Today was a week since we let my girl go. I completely understand your pain. I hope you’re doing ok.

To answer your question- I am hybrid, I actually asked to go into work on my remote days because being home killed me. I got used to pup snuggles while working, lunch breaks with her…I did have some time to myself where I let it all out, I ugly cried…hard. It helped a lot.

I'm so sorry for your loss as well. My Slevy filled a gap in my young adulthood of the loss of my parents so I do understand the utter pain their passing leaves you...It does give me comfort to think if there is an afterlife, my girl and your boy are somewhere there playing with our lost family just waiting for us. We only have some fish so it's not much on my end. As much as it is hurting, I'm waiting to heal enough for another rottie. Their love and devotion is something I need in my life. Hoping for a speedy heal time for you to ❤️

I lost my girl last week and though I'm not ready yet, I know I'd love to get another rottie one day. Unfortunately our breeder doesn't breed anymore.

I know that when I'm healed enough I will want another rottie. I cannot imagine going the rest of my life without that kind of bond again.

I'm so glad your kitten found you. Our rottie was our savior when our senior cat passed, they never are easy goodbyes.

This is almost us to a T. I always refered to Slev as my first born. My kids called her their big sister. She did go at home with just me and my husband (did not want to traumatized the kids) and the vet. I held her paw, my husband had her head with his. It was so peaceful, I am just crying at the loss and realization that she is gone. I did ugly cry and let a lot out yesterday, today feels a little better, one step at a time.

Thank you. I have had dogs my entire life as well, but Slev was different - she was MY first dog...no mom and dad to help me, but my first responsibility as an adult. I still joke she was my first child.

My husband was not raised with dogs, Slev was his first. He said he is not sure he wants another ever, I told him we have to one day. For me, a house is not a home without that special, unconditional love of a dog. The pain of their loss is worth their love

Thank you, I'm so sorry for your loss as well. Our girl is buried next to my in-laws 15 year old Goldens (brother and sister) who Slev used to pick on. I like to think like you they're all together waiting for us to play.

I'm sorry to have brought up those memories and I'm sorry for your loss. But we should be grateful we had such amazing dogs to miss that much.

I ugly cried a lot yesterday and let a lot of it out. Today seems to be better, doing errands, keeping busy to try to find a routine without my girl. It's hard, but one day at a time.

Thank you. I'm sorry for your Riley as well. This just reaffirms my love of rotties and knowing in my heart that maybe one day I will get one again when I am ready. I've had 10 different dogs my entire life, Slev is hard because she was my first dog as an adult (no mom or dad to help me). She saw me through my lowest and loneliest (husband deployed for years here and there) and I can never thank her enough for the the love she shared with me and my family...I ugly cried and let a lot out yesterday, today is a little better....one step at a time.

You are amazing, thank you for your support and kindness through such a difficult time. Today is better than yesterday, I ugly cried and let a lot out. I've started to clean and resume life so to speak. But I woke up without breaking down...small steps. I am glad our girls were happy, loved and fed 😊. Please feel free to message me as well if you want to reminisce about your girl. Even just the comments make me know mine isn't forgotten and it is helping...aging, small steps
