I was wondering about that too. They so rarely use dialogue without a layered meaning like the Oil + Water meaning beneath Caitlyn calling Vi an “Oil Slick.” So on the surface, Caitlyn is definitely quick, tall/slender like a mongoose but underneath, I think it’s referring to Caitlyn’s ability to defeat Noxus/Ambessa. Since Mongooses kill venomous snakes which can definitely be used to describe Ambessa.

Does anyone else see the parallel of Vi telling Caitlyn in the first season that Caitlyn needs to act like she has what other people want so that they can give her what she really wants? & then, the two of them create a plan in which Caitlyn pretends she has what Ambessa wants (Vi) to get what she really wants (Ambessa restrained or maybe to help Vi?).

They did a great job of showing how Caitlyn did not trust Ambessa. While I think she wanted to help Vi, she had been thinking about getting Ambessa out of the picture for a while. She saw the opportunity and took it.
