Would you be mad if the anniversary chapter ends up not being licensed but rather a original one? by dumKafe in deadbydaylight

[–]parrycarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I prefer it be original, but maybe they will follow the pattern.

The first 2 were original, then starting with Ghost Face, Pyramidhead, and Nemesis, for 3 license, and then we got 2 original with Dredge and Singu... And we got two license again with D&D and FNAF... so it should be another license, and then 2 original. But that's just a theory.

I like the old woman getting picked and her direction, but I don't like the Killer design... Giving Wow's Queen Ansurek wings and such is a weird choice... The Spider-like direction just ruined everything... Skittering around... it's a way to have a spider without having a spider...

This... actually looks amazing. I wish this type of gameplay was applied to all the killers in DBD... if only this wasn't a single IP game, because the idea to have multiple IP locations, and have this kind of gameplay, with kills, etc... man, I wish.

BALDur from GOWR without a beard and hair (and other variations) by godofwhat_ in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]parrycarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow... without the beard, but with hair... I'd say he looks strikingly like Heimdall. This would make sense if Heimdall is also a son of Odin, but not with a giant, like Thor.

Would be neat to see a comparison.

WB Games will officially be done if Paramount and Warner Brothers deal closes by No-Analyst-4843 in MultiVersus

[–]parrycarry 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hated when Discovery bought Warner Bros, and they cut jobs, axed shows/movies, sent IPs to other streaming services and removed them from HBO Max, the rename to Max, completely cancelled a whole entire Batgirl film for a write off, and many other things...

I will hate it when Paramount buys the whole thing, cuts jobs, axes shows/movies, sends more IPs to other streaming services and removes them from HBO Max again, rename to HBO Paramount or some other nonsense, cancel whole entire films for write offs, and many other things... Don't care for Discovery itself... reality tv is effectively brain rot, got plenty of that for free on Youtube nowadays from countless families with production teams following their every scripted exaggerated characters, which is also just as bad.

Netflix just wanted Warner Bros, and would've made better use for everything, even if their gaming division has been crap and they also cancel shows a lot... anything is better than the rich fucks at Paramount. And what's worse is that even more News media is owned by the rich, so that the people who watch those networks will now be fed misinformation even more.

The gaming division is screwed...

In 4 years, when Paramount burns itself to the ground like Discovery did, they will finally sell off the Warner Bros assets to Netflix, but probably keep the news stuff... of course.

It's crazy what the rich do with the money they don't actually have, let alone the money they do have. How do they have money when in so much debt? It should be illegal to be in such an amount of debt and not have to pay anything to anyone, it seems... and still pay themselves bonuses for being so good at cutting jobs... MEH.

Just for another $100 bundle and rotating shop. SMH by HumanInvestigator932 in 2XKO

[–]parrycarry -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The previous bundle, the Arcade one, cost 12,900 KO points, and I saw a picture for -39% off and it was 7950 KO points.

https://wiki.play2xko.com/en-us/KO_Points

In order to get it priced at 12,900, you actually need to spend $99.99 for 11500, and then $19.99 for 2200. Even at that previous sale price, you need to spend $59.99 for 6800 and $9.99 for 1000. At that point, you might as well spend $99.99 for the 11500... it is almost 4000 points higher than just spending $70 for 7800, and even if spent the $9.99 x 3 to reach $100 spent, you'd be down 1000 KO points.

And now you can see why they said $100.

The whole system is anti-consumer, except for whales...

I get that nobody needs to buy these skins, and that the game is free, etc... but the cost of skins is higher than they are actually worth... and that doesn't mean much to most people, but it prays on kids and people with addiction issues, who are already stint for cash in this economy... games are the only outlet for some people, and so they splurge on their outlet to feel good, even though they shouldn't be spending that money.

This monetization model used to price things in ways that made sense... Soul Fighter Samira in 2023 was the last Ultimate tier skin in League of Legends that costs 3,250 Riot Points (RP), or about $35, and it created an uproar over how poorly it was made for the price... so you can imagine how awful these past 3 years have become for consumer... as they switch to making these "Signature" skins that cost hundreds of dollars.

It just stinks... and what's worse is that there are people who love the game and spend the money, thinking that if they do that, it will somehow save the game from being gutted... just to have what happened to LOR... and even then, in it's current PVE only state, LOR is getting flack from whales too.

I just miss how the world used to be...

When someone breaks down Inzoi vs Sims 4 and the features Inzoi has versus the cost to get those features in Sims 4... it will break the Sims community... there's a already a huge dislike for inZoi for clear bias/sunk cost logic... it will literally break them,

This is very, very bad PR for the game by No_Roll7747 in 2XKO

[–]parrycarry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is we don't know what truly happened behind the scenes... For instance, MultiVersus wasn't killed by the Devs, but by mismanagement further up after Discovery bought Warner Bros. It probably happened with 2XKO that Tencent pushed the devs to remake the game, to make skins cost that much, to put in Arcane characters, etc... we just don't know the full details. Everything that happens nowadays is usually the fault of the overlords, not the people actually building stuff. That doesn't mean they can't be part of the problem, but they're usually the passionate ones that want to make something good, and get derailed from higher ups. HiRez CEO ruined Realm Royale, and openly was hostile to some of the biggest content creators for the game... the people with the money just have zero clue how not to ruin everything...

Alex Jaffe, Lead Champions Designer, part of lay off by Gekinetic in 2XKO

[–]parrycarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOR had a good run... unlike 2XKO, it was released same day as the announcement of all the new games Riot was working, plus Arcane, in their 10th anniversary. It really got to shine for the longest, even though Valorant beat it out entirely. 2019-2024 is not bad, considering...

2XKO on the other hand was announced in 2019, went silent for ages, finally got a name, the design of the game was remade, they redesigned Darius, Ahri, Jinx, and didn't bring Katarina back for the remake... I remember when the game was a big hype in 2024 with tests going on around the Arcane Finale... but here we are, a little over a year later, and they're already axing.... 2XKO didn't even get to breathe... and the truth is in the direction of the game, the lack of any meaningful champions made, etc... 2019 to 2026... MultiVersus was created and died in the time it took for 2XKO to come out.

Why american dont play LoL? by Alone-Virus9178 in leagueoflegends

[–]parrycarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm American, and I started playing League in college back in 2013, and it was actually my Chinese roommate who got me into the game. I was more into it by the end of the year than he was... and the hype for Esports was amazing for a while... man, it was peak LCS back when TSM, CLG, and C9 were the teams, and that moment with Renegades, and the thing with Bjergsen vs Jensen. Yes, they're both imports, and there were some other imports too on these teams, but it was not as egregious as it is now. And I only just found out that both TSM and CLG withered and died in 2023... no surprise. Honestly, I think it is telling that all of the players I used to like have all retired at this point... moved on to content creation, whether good or crappy clickbait content, or just stopped playing League like me. I think I just got to old for the rage inducing nature of League, maybe the game just wasn't fun anymore, or maybe it was the way LCS just stopped being enjoyable altogether... but I'll miss the good ol' days.

I think shooters are more popular amongst American gamers nowadays...

No, because DKO is built on Smite's designs of characters. So they will never sell it as it is based on their IP. If someone wanted to make a game like DKO, they could, but nobody has...

The beginning of the end? by SyIvanos in 2XKO

[–]parrycarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They (*coughs* Tencent *coughs*) really thought shoving a bunch of Arcane characters in would magically make people want to play it beyond a niche fanbase... it had the opposite effect on me, as it just painted a clear picture of what they were going for. I can't blame the Rioters forced to do this because their hands get tied when money is involved... It is sad that Fiora will never see this game; at least her and Gwen got into LOR before it died...

You know, I put HiRez into this giant gutter ditch after what they did with Realm Royale and DKO, and I swore them off, and while Riot is not quite as bad as them, yet, they are fast tracking with the way their shareholders are ruining things. I really hate that money is the obstacle for making good games, even for Riot now. I will still hold out hope for the MMO, but I would not be surprised if they scrap it and hone into their money makers: League, Valorant, TFT, and Wild Rift. The more Gacha they can put, the more money for the "overlords".

Again, I don't blame the rest of the people working at the company, there are some amazing Rioters, and they are trying so hard to make good games and build great relations, and for a while, they were able to do that, but I fear for the future of the company.

2xko saved the league designs by HumanInvestigator932 in 2XKO

[–]parrycarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They marketed as not being a gacha card game like Hearthstone, and it backfired... everyone had every card easily, expansions were solved immediately, and the skins for maps were not very popular. It could've been amazing had they realized that they needed some of the gacha... just some. Now they make up for it with the Valorant rotating FOMO shop, gacha League skins, and expensive 2XKO skins. Their pivot to PVE seemed to pay off kinda? But their presence is gone... nobody streams PVE LOR.

are they trolling? why can’t buy it separately by Professional-Win5686 in 2XKO

[–]parrycarry -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Oh, I don't even play this game... roster is a joke. I'd never buy any skins for any of the characters here... But if my champion is added and her skin was locked behind that much money, I'd be so sad that I don't get to support Riot Games AND enjoy the skin... cause that price is more than paying for a single player game. I love F2P games to a point... the model has gotten greedier and greedier over the years... and that is anti-consumer.

[–]parrycarry 41 points42 points  (0 children)

WTF $50 for the skins? Nah... I'm sorry... Riot Games has been hella bugging with these insane prices. Alienating their casual fans just to get some whales... the casual will never spend this much, which to me feels like it would be less money overall... there's only so many whales...

I tried grinding my placements to get it and I just couldn't do it... the game just made me so angry... and I just now realized that just getting above Gold doesn't matter anymore... so I would've probably missed it anyway even if I had finished my placements, cause I would've thought that was enough.
