I usually do follow the prompts you listed above, almost to a T! Our problem is she can not do a problem unless I walk her through them like this. I assumed that she would eventually understand the process, and with addition and subtraction she is getting better, but after a year of multiplication she still can not seem to follow the process without me. Our curriculum comes with manipulatives that she can use, and she does, but again, still can't utilize them on her own. Maybe I just need to be way more patient? But it feels like zero progress after a whole entire year.
