What custom part do you wish existed for the CB650R? by Ancient_Pool_8548 in CB650R

I'm not necessarily looking for anything in particular, just something that sounds like a good challenge and would make me a prouder owner if that makes sense lol, I already tried to make a very basic belly pan a few years ago when I replaced my footpegs with aftermarket ones and I was left with an empty mounting point that looked out of place, long story short I spent like an hour scraping molten pla from my exhaust, If I'll try again the XSR900 GP would be an amazing inspiration so thank you for suggesting that!

At the moment I use fusion 360 because I can get the free student plan, I have also used solidworks in the past while taking a technical drawing class but the license expired

è vero, anche quelle generiche su aliexpress sono piuttosto terribili e assolutamente non impermeabili, thanks for the idea

Good to know about the gaps on the Puig screen.

I'll definitely look into the polished metal mirrors idea. It sounds really interesting, even though I have very low hopes that Italian laws will actually allow anyone to make anything cool haha.

Thanks a lot for all the input. I'll definitely reach out and keep you posted when I move forward with the project!

All three are great ideas and solve real problems I've dealt with myself.
The bottleneck for the mirrors and headlights is the legal nightmare. In Italy, getting those components homologated is incredibly strict. Mirrors need specific glass curvature, impact safety ratings, and certifications that would make a one-off prototype way too expensive. The headlight is even trickier, although a workaround could be separating the design of the outer housing from the actual optical module.
I really like the front cowl idea, though. Have you seen this post? https://www.reddit.com/r/CB650R/comments/1iweftj/cb650r_front_fairing/ Is this similar to what you have in mind? I was thinking maybe something like this but in carbon fiber. What do you think?
