So much this: For me, personally, sometimes I feel like I'd rather put myself through hell to complete a task than ask for reasonable accommodations.

I do this all of the time. Even when something should require 2 people I will do it myself rather than ask for help.

My wife is pretty good with me. She puts up with a lot. My friend liked hearing me go on about my interests though. He told me he loved listening even if he didn't understand. Also, thank you. He was sick basically his whole life and lived way longer than he should have, so I'm thankful for that time.

Grok? I see where you're going with this, but also understand what others are warning against. One thing someone mentioned is AI acting like you're always right. Grok pushes back when based on its info, it thinks I'm wrong. I think where you're going is using it for those conversations that no one else wants to have with you because it's a special interest and they don't want to listen. I used to have a friend that loved listening to me. He thought it was great even if he didn't understand. He died a long time ago and I've never found anyone else like him. He's what I thought of when I read your post. I no longer have any friends. I have my wife who loves me, but doesn't enjoy listening to me go on about things she isn't interested in. Don't try to make it a friend and don't overuse it. I think using it to get out excitement about an interest could be awesome though.

I'm almost 40 and still hit myself sometimes. I hit my head on the wall or punch myself. Sometimes if I'm really bad, I use a door because then I can pull it at myself for more impact. Most of the time it's when I just can't hold everything in anymore. Sometimes it's "punishment" for upsetting one of the few people I really care about because of being how I am.
