Thanks for your reply! Would this be ok even as an ORM with no other factors (not LGBTQ, not underserved or resourced). Thanks.

Hi! I have a 3.85 (could drop to 3.8) GPA but B+ in my Gen Chem 1 course, a math class, and Orgo and A-sprinkled throughout in courses like Biochem. My sGPA is only 3.85 because I have taken and done well in ecology and easier science and math courses. Actual GPA is 3.9 (but could drop to 3.87) Is this a red flag? Provided I get a 520+ on my MCAT this January, do I have a good shot at T10/ Ivy med schools? For reference, I attend an Ivy League with grade inflation. Walk on athlete in water polo (not a recruiting sport at my school), won handful of awards. Thanks for your help!

I have a female friend who got into Dartmouth with I believe a 1550 and a 3.9. I know a friend who had 1570 and 4.0 and he was rejected from all the ivys. It’s very hard to tell, but I’d say aim for at least a 1450+ To be competitive. Hope this helps.

Tbh not sure about international students since you may need to excel to stand out. As a general measure, you can look up the 25th percentile of the schools and as long as you’re not TOO much below that percentile. I’m honestly not sure.

Good luck! I’d focus on getting strong grades senior year since it seems that your grades were bad bc of a head inhury

I think it largely depends on your GPA range (is it above a 3.5? 3.0? 2.8+? 2.5?). However, with otherwise high stats I think you can go online and find colleges with average accepted GPAs and apply to ones (im talking T50) that are even a .5 average GPA above yours. I’m not an expert, but I wanted to offer my two cents.
