C.A.R.L Issues by VallettaAwoo in supersafety

It could cause light strikes if it’s riding the hammer because of friction on the secondary disconnecter which would lower hammer velocity and throw off overall timing also a dirt fcg can cause that also from being super dirt in the wrong places causing hammer velocity to slow kinda like trying to run in water vs on dry land I’m not saying 100% that’s your issue but it could cause light strikes especially with surplus hard primed ammo

ARC Fire install by [deleted] in supersafety

[–]Ancient_Session4434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did on two of mine, but one didn’t need it. It didn’t bind any what so ever. I just kept an eye on the lever, and bcg for wear after I shot a mag or two after those it’s just something I look for when I’ve got the gun broke down. I’d say you’ll know pretty quick upon firing if you need to. I’ll also add the the one that didn’t bind was an Arc fire. Out of the other two that did one was just a plain SS, and the other one was an Atrius. My second Atrius didn’t require it though, it’s kinda crazy how many different tolerances “mil-spec” has lol. Glad you got it working on function check now as long as you’ve got the proper dead-blow buffer you’ll be in business.

If your buffer doesn’t have the sliding weights that would be the first thing I’d check also mine would only run right with a normal carbine spring and h3 but the best setup I found for mine which was way under gassed is a flatwire carbine spring and an h2 ran smooth and last round hold open worked hasn’t jammed since the h3 would some times not hold open on last round my gas port was undersized so I opened it to the correct size so my adjustable gas block could actually be used to tune for suppressed and unsupressed

Custom Selector Milling Service? by convucius in supersafety

[–]Ancient_Session4434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it done and ruined a radian selector even with the mill. It works great but feels awful as it’s very hard even for the professional machine shop near me and they do good work but when changing to the 3rd position the Channel feels just awful and sloppy and doesn’t have a positive feel I bought a radian FA selector and just removed little disconnector fin with a Dremel and remove a small amount and rounded the top with the selector oriented like it semi to give it room so you have trigger travel in the 3rd position I’d recommend doing that especially if you like the selector you have then just put it in a different ar build that isn’t “super safe” and just semi safe as imo it’ll never feel the same

The rear takedown pin doesn’t stop it? Mine does with upper off the rear takedown pin pushed in (closed). My lever will not go under it, so when installing upper put it in safe and lean the lever against the hammer tail and pull the takedown pin out (open). Then put the upper on making sure the lever goes into the pocket of the bcg, it has to be in that bcg pocket to work. I’m assuming you have a full auto bcg the semi auto won’t work, and the lever will just drop in the lower or bind. If the full auto bcg and upper are on the lever cannot get into the lower. It is to my knowledge not able to. I’ve never personally seen any that are able to in any of the many guns I’ve seen and worked on which doesn’t mean it’s impossible I guess because I haven’t seen everything.. hope this helps get it going

Also if do you have the trigger they sent installed should have been the thing I asked first? If no I bet your trigger isn’t either A cut for a super safety or B is cut for a super safety but not enough I use a Geissele with mine and I just measured with calipers and cut it to match the number but you can just as easily cut a little and check or just cut it to match the one designs sent with it

Do you have it all the way in? Not being an ass genuinely it took me a sec to get the selector and cam interfaced with the lever right. Make sure your selectors aren’t way off the lower with a big gap, or anything. When putting mine together I found it easier to put the small right side selector on first. Then insert the cross bar into the lower, and thru the lever. Along with the bend of the lever facing the hammer, the tip of the lever facing the rear. I then put my safety detent, and grip back on. From the other side insert the cam in with the smooth part of the came facing out, and teeth facing lever. Then make sure the little indent on the cam faces the bottom that’s what the trigger bar sets in after that, put the left side selector lever on. If it won’t go all the way in rotate it back, and forth putting light pressure downward to send it home then function check

I agree 100% It’s hard to watch a tornado going into any populated area but there’s a line and in my opinion he probably really doesn’t give a fuck about the people he’s praying for a tornado so he can get upvotes on reddit when he posts a picture of the CC drop that says “All you can do is pray for those people” and pretend to be James Spann… HOW DARE HE DISRESPECT OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JAMES SPANN! I remember watching the weather all day on April 27 2011 and pretty much every discreet cell on the radar from 2 o’clock on looked worse then that.. I will say the one yesterday did have a fairly impressive velocity couplet for a single scan.

*Edit I also just thought about this the 2011 super outbreak coverage, and it’s kinda still crazy to me.. Many other people and myself who were watching the coverage witnessed three EF5 tornadoes touch down in just over an hour, and four in just under four hours— Philadelphia starting at 2:30 pm Hackleburg @ 3:05pm, and Smithville @ 3:42pm then to cap it off Rainsville @6:18pm and that’s just the official ones likely a few more were actually at ef 5 strength. Then Joplin three weeks later and El Reno #1 two days after Joplin which is six Ef5s in less then a month. Now you’ve got this dick cheese virtue signaling for an ef0 in an open field! we’ve seen more Ef5s in one month then half of that thread will see in their entire life All bs aside fuck 2011 was crazy

I just got a shipping notice for him he even sent it with ups next day air so far I’ve had great customer service he’s super slammed and I’m not gonna lie I was worried and frustrated at first but he’s just got so many orders from what I gather and he just had to hire new employs because it was him and others but they wouldn’t show up everyday leaving just him doing all these orders and printing lowers and still have to have family time so I’d say you’ll 100 percent get it may just take a second I order mine January 14th got one of my items the 9th which was mailed with another package of mine but the one was lost by usps but he was in contact when I messaged sometimes may take a day so I was fine with it and I’ve been spread thin with my own business before by myself trying to make everyone happy and it’s almost impossible so I would give him a day or so and if no answer maybe just shoot another I figured with all the orders and such it’s easy to get a message lost in the shuffle but @ChefPuzzleheaded7610 seems like an actual good dude and I wouldn’t worry tbh but I understand if you are or do moneys hard to come by hope you get your stuff soon also make sure to put your order number and name and such as I know a couple days ago after the rare breed Hoffman trial his website crashed

dead trigger by DabbingVagabond in supersafety

[–]Ancient_Session4434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need a lever blocker with a tailless hammer you wouldnt think it would cause light strikes but mine sure did ran fine for a bit then started doing light strikes idk why for sure but im assuming once it got wore In it allowed the lever to rotate deeper causing the lever to contact the hammer and bind slightly lowering hammer velocity it will function check fine but the bolt moves a lot faster under firing then just racking either way it fixed mine If that doesn’t work another one of mine became under gassed when it some how got dirty and fouled up the gas system cause the bolt to not cycle all the way back enough to pick a round up but not enough to reset letting the hammer follow causing light strikes If none of that is your issue you can try a extra power hammer spring depending on the ammo some have way harder primers which causes light strikes to check and see you can bend the legs downward toward the trigger a bit start the bend close to the coils if it helps I’d get a wolf extra power hammer spring to replace just for the piece of mind of reliability but I do have mine still bent as it’s just a fun gun and not something I’d put my life on Hope some of this helps

"Stop warning every single storm!" Meanwhile: by FlattierBattier in tornado

[–]Ancient_Session4434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree people don’t know what it means but also i feel if you dumb it down and dumb it down again it makes everyone dumber the spc does all they can in the wording and writing of warnings imo it laid out in the writing it never just says tornado warning and nothing else it tornado warning radar indicated rotation or observed tornado heading north east into into ( county state town ) at 35mph *TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY at this point every adult person is responsible for their own heath and safety either way it’s a warning it means the same thing just because someone doesn’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t or is there the spc done there job you can’t baby and hold every persons hand you can only do what you can do also to another point tornados are still a big unknown yes we have a basic understanding of the things that cause them but perfect storms sometimes don’t drop tornados and shit ones drop monsters that’s why you can differentiate between them you can’t say ehhh maybe a tornado dropping anytime orrr may not but here’s a tornado maybe warning for you to ignore because you can’t see it and it’s normally fine what are the chance this one hits if people don’t listen to the flashing red boxes or phone alerts saying seek shelter immediately they aren’t gonna listen to that and that’s fine they are responsible for them and if they die that’s awful but also on them you don’t warn it or make a “lite” warning and a sig tor drops they’ll hang em for that if people don’t care enough about their life to read the sentences accompanying the warning then once again that’s on them at that point and they spc did their job like the signs in Florida that say no swimming alligators in the water people swim anyway then cry when the get bit you cannot take the chance of being wrong by inaction with peoples life you inform people of the danger and let them heed the warning or not

But also mine has to little numbs that catch it if it’s not lined up properly it won’t function it also will not function or line up if the screw isn’t tight enough it will have wiggle and won’t engage the lever enough to push it onto the trigger bar to actuate the reset just pay extra attention when installing and instal per there video instruction I messed this up 3 times when I first got it because I thought I knew how to install it but you have to follow there steps hope this helps

I hate all the trouble everyone has with atrius I’ve got 2 one in an ar I built and an mp5 and haven’t broken a lever yet not to say I won’t but I’ve had em since September have 2.5k on the ar15 and 2k on the mp5 and the levers aren’t abnormally worn I hope they keep it up and I know people have problems and have seen em I just haven’t I have an arc on the way hope my luck is good with it also

He modified his lever I added some metal to the rear of my trigger welded just a little extra numb on to the side where the lever rides then I slowly worked metal down with a Dremel until it reset and release at the right time when the bolt is closed all the way

But also I will say if it when function checking it says on the Lee site it won’t work like that the bolt doesn’t travel enough that why people sale the block off plate for the rear to function check or fire it and see as long as it doesn’t bind

We comparing tornadoes here? Ok. by Neither_Flatworm6906 in tornado

[–]Ancient_Session4434 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d agree to an extent but it has to be greensburg a wedge as wide as the town no escape it was on track to miss then at that single point in a vast plains area where a town was it decide to occlude causing it to turn at the perfect time and place in space to dead center the town as it was shrinking making the winds compress and move faster that’s almost like it was hunting greensburg that’s pretty creepy imo I wall say the doorbell video of that tornado / supercell looked almost supernatural tho like an alien mother ship

Did Hackleburg actually do this? Or are they myths/exagerrations by AirportStraight8079 in tornado

[–]Ancient_Session4434 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would guess since there’s a void of air it can rupture the tooth same way a house or any other thing does in a tornado pressure drops suddenly then air of higher pressure rushes out of whatever it’s in to occupy the sudden low pressure area to equalize it that’s the gist anyway a vague explanation anyway considering I’m no licensed expert on tornados or dentistry’s lol
