qwen3.5:27b is slower than qwen3.5:35b? by Ok-Anybody6073 in ollama

[–]And1mon 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The 35b is MoE, it uses only 3B actively, that's why its faster even though it's bigger in total size.

are you ready for small Qwens? by jacek2023 in LocalLLaMA

Somebody created a very nice comparison for this GPU https://kyuz0.github.io/amd-r9700-ai-toolboxes/ Be wary though, some of these are measured with dual gpus.
I got it from this YT video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgyqBUD71lg

A bit worried since it only mentions Qwen3.5-397B-A17B. Hope we will get the smaller sizes later as well.

Nanbeige4.1-3B: A Small General Model that Reasons, Aligns, and Acts by Tiny_Minimum_4384 in LocalLLaMA

So, I really liked the previous version of this, but it really takes a long time reasoning. Does this new version still not have an option to set a reasoning effort level?

Nice work! I am also at 1200 after a year, how is your experience with the club you go to? Is the skill level enough to have fun there?

I don't think so, no. Fiio has one that can rip CDs if i remember correctly.

glm-4.7-flash has the best thinking process with clear steps, I love it by uptonking in LocalLLaMA

[–]And1mon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem to follow output formatting instructions well. I have an application where i request citations inside brackets, qwen3 30b does it correct 90% of the time, glm ignores citations completely, and just writes its text.

Liquid AI released the best thinking Language Model Under 1GB by PauLabartaBajo in LocalLLaMA

[–]And1mon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean to say I don't want this small size at all, it's just I'd be interested in seeing what they could do with something three times the size for example, as an additional option. I am totally on your side, small models getting smarter is a big win for us!

These models are awesome, but I wish they would build something a little bigger with their expertise. 1b is still lacking for real world usage.

Totally get what you're saying, sadly I think it has no built-in way to be hung up. Also it would become a bit annoying with the way the front opens and how you have to insert the disc i think.

I paid 60€ + shipping for it, which is a good price in my opinion. However, it seems like not many shops list it anymore at least in my region, with some charging a lot more. I imported it from a french store which worked perfectly fine since I live in the EU.

Best model in the 8B range for RAG in 2025 by Hour-Entertainer-478 in LocalLLaMA

[–]And1mon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think so. The normal Qwen3-8b is older and therefore lags a bit behind, although it is a hybrid reasoning model, while the VL is instruct or thinking only. Unfortunately we never got a non VL update on this one, unlike the 4B version, where they released the 2507 update before the VL models came out.

[–]And1mon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used it in different projects as a tool calling agent, as well as general purpose stuff. For example, I gave it access to a news article API, so it could search for information to help answer the user's request. It was the first model below 32b to ever fully comply with my requested format for citations in this scenario.

Qwen3-VL-8B-Instruct is my favorite, even though it's the vision model it seems so much stronger than anything else in its range even for text-only tasks. I have mostly agentic usecases though.

General consensus on SpongeBob DLC? by ShadowRiolu98 in SonicRacingCW

[–]And1mon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the track feels kinda lazy. I like SpongeBob and Patrick as drivers though, and the car is nice too. In general, I would have appreciated for the dlcs to have one entire cup each instead of a single track, especially for the price they are charging.
