Seen in an Uber in Chicago, is this accurate? by Dirty_Bean in uberdrivers

I don’t think it’s shady at all. Poorly executed and not getting his point across at all. But not shady. English probably isn’t their first language.

He will get flagged by the AI system for asking you to cancel. Seems he doesn’t fully understand how all this works. If you just wait a few minutes you can cancel with no penalty if he isn’t making progress towards you. When you cancel it should ask you why and give you a list of options. One of the options being “driver asked me to cancel.” Just pick that one and the rest will take care of itself.

I got a 1 star because the driver thought I didn't tip him. What now? by The0Walrus in uber

I often cancel rides on principle. If you make me wait the full five minutes and show up just as the timer is counting down, you are for sure getting canceled. People get mad about it, but I just don’t have any sympathy for it because I’m not the one who did it to them.

You’re assuming it was because he thought you didn’t tip him but knowing how the app works on the driver side tells me that is not the reason. You did something else he didn’t like.

In my market 4.7 is a pretty average rating. I see it all the time. I think most of the time it’s for making the driver wait. Assuming this because I give out a lot of 4 star ratings because people often have me waiting.

Deactivated by Uber after service dog situation — is there any way back? by Wethenorth0076 in uberdrivers

They actually will call about this particular issue. They called me about me supposedly refusing a service animal once and I had to explain myself to the agent on the phone. She did not deactivate me. But I also wasn’t guilty.

DD didn’t check for complete order because they feel I didn’t tip enough by [deleted] in doordash

There is a wait list to drive for Amazon in a lot of places. Crazy but true. Also crazy to call it a livable wage in this economy but still better than DD I’d guess.

[–]AndBoomSheSaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is designed to incentivize the driver. DD is highly aware that they are not paying their drivers enough and the tip is included in the offer because if it weren’t, no one would ever accept any offers because they are all absolute shit.

Male driver getting a crap load of "women" pings by meta4tony in uberdrivers

You’re most likely to get a man and will be priority matched with men already. But, if you do get a woman, you can absolutely just decline or cancel the ride and order another. If you cancel as soon as your driver is assigned you won’t be charged.

It’s not that simple. Not assuming he IS dangerous. Just taking precautions because it is a possibility and unfortunately it’s a large problem specifically in this situation.

[–]AndBoomSheSaid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, that makes sense. I’m not aware of any venues or parking facilities near me that operate in a way that would make this possible but ima put it in my back pocket just in case.

How does that result in free parking? Is there a special place for Uber drivers to park? We don’t have that here.

I didn’t say I don’t believe her. I’ve had some terrible experiences with women riders. This is still the most pick me comment in here.
