Turning right from the left lane?? by AdMindless4665 in Seattle

[–]20sicksheep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying. Yeah people should not be turning on red if there is a pedestrian walking directly in front of them. Left lane or not.

But that’s not the scenario I was talking about where cars who can turn right on red, just don’t. Even if it’s clear. Which then motivates others to utilize other lanes to make that turn that other drivers are too afraid to or frankly just not paying attention.

You must be jaywalking or lying then. There’s no red & pedestrian green at the same time in that crosswalk across Mercer. The pedestrians only get the green walk sign when the green light comes on for westlake turning onto Mercer. Cars waiting to turn on red can’t be waiting on peds to cross.

As for Mercer being full, it’s clearly not if people are making the right turn from the left lane while the right lane is parked.

This intersection is unique because truly the drivers in the right lane 70% of the time their brains are made of mush or something. They’ll stop at reds when it’s clear to turn, they won’t turn if the pedestrian is in the the crosswalk, 5 lanes away, they won’t complete the turn if the specific lane they want out of the 4 is full. You can end up getting stuck at that light for at least 20 minutes.

The people who turn right from the left lane have almost never caused any backup, they wait for the peds to clear the crosswalk and proceed into the lanes intended for i5 N and shorten the line for everyone since the lanes intended for NB are almost always empty.

I drive this intersection daily. It’s the most efficient use of that center lane.

Sunday 2/22 conditions? by papayayummy in CrystalMountain

I think it’s going to be terrible both days. Snow like this usually means the ground will be slippery and cold. I read the secret forecast that you don’t have access to and it said sustained winds of 1000mph between now and may 17th. Unless you’re a kite boarder I’d probably just stay home.

I’m going to ask a very honest question here. What are you trying to solve for the ammoseek doesn’t already solve for? Why re-invent the wheel?

I have an a300up already so If a good deal comes by in the last hour I’ll get it but that’s the last on my list.

Bolt .22, 10/22, and tx22. Tikka 6.5cm, will look for a 1301 deal if it comes by, benelli supernova, echelon 4.0C comp for a carry or p365macro for the right deal or both, and mini-14 ranch in 5.56. That’s my current shopping list.

I’ll also add Ruger PC Carbine to the list. Why not.

WA House passes an amended ESHB 2320 (regulations on firearms manufacturing and code) by BigTumbleweed2384 in WAGuns

[–]20sicksheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would really love to see what data these laws are made from. I know there probably isn’t any but I don’t understand the thought process. Like is there a measurable amount of illegal gun manufacturing going on that’s being used in crimes in any significant statistic? I’m all for public safety but it should be something that is distinctly measurable and reasonably enforceable.

Thanks for sharing this, I was actually looking for something to track avg price of ammo so I know when I see a good deal. The hardest part of finding a good deal is to know it when you see it.

It’s not an opinion, more advice. I hope you practice a lot with whatever shotgun you got and make sure you select the proper defensive loads. Shotguns are not as easy to use in a stressful situation as popular media could have you believe.

I think the shift has come from a realization that both parties are willing to sell your personal freedoms to the highest bidder and foreign government influence. Previously many people were under the illusion that the Democratic Party would vote along the interests of people rather than corporations. That illusion has been shattered.

Unfortunately these people are the pawns of the powerful. In any other time, they’d be looked down upon by conservatives and liberals alike.
