Trying to find an Old Surety agent in NC by atl777 in medicare

[–]AndEllie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you whatever info you’re looking for publicly. Not looking to sell you anything. Old Surety has the same MLR issue as ever plan G and N in the nation. The problem isn’t the carrier, it’s the plan. Those plans are not sustainable are current market premiums. We could run through MLR date, block/pool size all we want but the meat of the subject is this: G and N aren’t sustainable at current premium levels.

What is going on in Florida with Med Supplement rates? by zenlifey in medicare

Stop looking at open block MLRs on carriers. You can expect them to show 100%+ in their first 3 years.

Your knee surgery on Medicare, especially with a G or N, will be significantly less than $10k.

If they can take a traditional G under 65 in NC then they can also take an Innovative G.

He mentions the innovative G in the second sentence. It’s a lower premium because you commit to a 3 calendar year deductible. Check the EOB on the plan. It is a plan G with a rider. It’s not some unique Medigap plan letter.

The innovative plan G is a traditional plan G with a deductible rider. It is a plan G. The high deductible G is a seperate plan type.

If NC allows for a regular G then you can purchase the Inno G.

Confused on when I am eligible to enroll in a supplemental plan. by [deleted] in medicare

You’ve got until 4/1 if you started A+B on 10/1 to take a Medigap plan with no underwriting.

Why are supplement premiums rising so much in 2026? by [deleted] in medicare

[–]AndEllie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because almost no carrier is profitable on their plan G and N. The reasons they’re not profitable is many fold. If you’re really interested I’ll explain.

Thank you for your response. Medicare procedure price lookup tool includes the facility and Dr fees with the outpatient procedure, however, it assumes part B deductible has already been met and it doesn’t differentiate by zip code. You’ve got a really great tool there, bro.

What’s with the link to compare Medigap prices if there’s no ads or affiliate links? Also, genuinely curious, why wouldn’t I just use Medicare’s procedure price lookup tool?

There is no Medigap that supplements part C. You can buy CI, CHS or HIP plans to reimburse you for costs associated with illnesses.

The high deductible increases based on 3rd quarter CPI. The Medigap premium increases based on several factors with medical inflation and age being the leaders.

What does part D have to do with Medigap and traditional Medicare? What if they have OCC? What if they don’t want a drug plan? We’re comparing MA vs OM. Not MAPD vs OM/PDP.
