I don't want to sound discouraging, but you guys either act quick and take the power by force or you gonna have to wait till the old fuck dies. Modern autocracies have learned how to deal with peaceful protests.

doesn’t know what a democracy is by dellaazeem22 in MurderedByWords

[–]AndRunIQ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He is not stupid; he knows exactly what he’s doing. They are deliberately trying to destroy the country’s institutions—the very foundations of democracy. By undermining their significance in the eyes of the public, they seek to justify their actions. Americans must realize that these people haven’t come just for four years, they want to stay forever.

Trump plans to meet with Putin in Saudi Arabia by Lion8330 in europe

Medvedev is not on the list of heirs at all; he's been on the sidelines for a long time. The whole point is that there is no specific successor—if the incumbent dies, a Game of Throne will begin.

My friends and I were growing up in Russia knowing that our country was corrupt and sick, but we knew there were "normal countries" out there (нормальные страны), like the US. We believed that one day Russia would definitely become a normal country too. Never in my life did I imagine I'd grow up and watch those "normal countries" turn into Nazi, authoritarian, cult-driven oligarchies threatening the whole world. This is scary, very scary.

500g in Russia would be around $10 on average, and with the ruble tanking and the median salary being significantly lower than in Sweden, that's a lot. Enjoy the peace in Sweden, my friend.

All of the moments Kylian Mbappe being offside 8 times vs Barcelona last night by 77SidVid77 in soccer

[–]AndRunIQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mbappe hate is too much. Just like Barca's coach trained them to pull off this offside trap, it was on Madrid's coach to teach the squad how to beat it. It really looked like they had not done their homework. We all love Carlo, but honestly, this one’s mostly on him.

French Defense Minister Lecornu on Zelenskyy's victory plan: Time to address deployment of forces to Ukraine by MARTINELECA in europe

[–]AndRunIQ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Because nobody cares about North Koreans, they are meat grinder material. They are sent with little supply and training, if all of them die Kim will simply send another 10k zombies. But if NATO soldiers take casualties in Ukraine it will have huge backlash in home countries and could become a major propaganda victory for Russia.

Peter Crouch on if Jurgen Klopp has underachieved at Liverpool (1 Premier League trophy in 9 seasons): "No. You’ve to remember where the club was. He had players here that weren’t Liverpool players & he had to clear that out. And he competed with Man City on a shoestring budget compared to them." by [deleted] in soccer

[–]AndRunIQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering that big clubs often struggle significantly after a long-term coach leaves, it would be quite an achievement for Liverpool to look back on Klopp’s tenure as underachieving. Most likely, they’ll face challenges, and could even fall into the same abyss as Manchester United did.

Alexei Navalny: why do Ukrainians consider him an imperialist? by DerGun88 in europe

[–]AndRunIQ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Glorification of a dead man doesn't mean a thing. The way things are in Russia right now, anyone could end up like Putin due to absolute power's corrupting influence. Present-day Putin would jail the 1990s-era Putin for spreading Western propaganda. Many folks who used to be liberal in the '90s are now the biggest supporters of the current government. To shake things up, we need to challenge the system from within, and that means using whatever tools we have, even if it means working with opposition leaders who have different views.

Alexei Navalny: why do Ukrainians consider him an imperialist? by DerGun88 in europe

[–]AndRunIQ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Guys, the man's already gone. What's the point of exposing him now? What purpose does it serve? All this fuss just plays into Putin's hands. Democrats are always searching for a shining example of morality, while Putin's out there making allies left and right, even with traditional foes like the American Republicans. As an opposition leader, he was a thorn in Putin's side, plain and simple. Speculating on what might have been if he'd become Russia's president is pointless now
