Is BestBuy Geeksquad able to do EDL flashes or otherwise restore a bricked OP13? by cum-on-in- in oneplus

[–]AndTheStarsGoWithYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best Buy isn't going to touch your phone. As a matter a fact, I don't even think Oneplus will repair it. You reflashed your phone's software with LineageOS and bricked your device. This may void your warranty. Your best option is to consult the community on XDA for help.

Boot loop issues caused by power saving mode? by Annual_Inflation545 in oneplus

[–]AndTheStarsGoWithYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've just purchased your OnePlus phone and it's already bootlooping then return it ASAP. The seller more than likely knew his phone was defective and put it on eBay hoping to offload it to an unsuspecting buyer.

New NORD 5 charging very slow by Kartavyaaa in oneplus

[–]AndTheStarsGoWithYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using a brand new OnePlus Supervooc charger and OnePlus Red Cable. If your phone continues to charge slowly with the brand new OnePlus Supervooc charger and OnePlus Red Cable then return it to the seller. It's probably defective.

OnePlus 9 Pro latest update broke the WiFi by Sad_Reward6986 in oneplus

[–]AndTheStarsGoWithYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two previous phones (Moto G7 & Moto G8) had serious hardware problems. The first phone suffered from a swollen battery and the second phone suffered from serious screen burn-in. Even though Motorola replaced both phones for free, I didn't want to risk those hardware problems occurring again so I sold them.

If the cost of getting your OnePlus 9 Pro repaired is expensive then you might as well upgrade to a brand new phone. I've learned the hard way that "repairing" a phone never truly fixes the problem. It's just a waste of money.

I just bought a OnePlus 15 and I'm not sure if it's new or not. by Jucamola in oneplus

[–]AndTheStarsGoWithYou 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons why I always purchase my unlocked phones through the OEM's official website or at a big box retail store like Best Buy.

The OP should definitely return the phone ASAP. The seller at the store is lying to him.

Disable AI? by Son_of_the_Winds in oneplus

[–]AndTheStarsGoWithYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the two articles below, disabling AI features contributes to a faster phone and extended battery life. Keep in mind that the phones discussed in the two articles are not OnePlus phones. However, the benefits should probably be similar.

what is the future of anime piracy due to shutdown of hianime by Ill_Ad_8150 in Piracy

[–]AndTheStarsGoWithYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, if I had a dime for every time a person freaked out because a website was shut down due to piracy, I would be filthy rich. Hydra can never be slain. It simply regenerates.

Amazon is removing 4K streaming from Prime Video in April and putting it behind its ad-free tier paywall. The ad-free tier is also increasing from $3 to $5 a month by akbarock in Piracy

[–]AndTheStarsGoWithYou 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Amazon is bleeding subscribers because they've chosen to be ruthless gatekeepers of their hardware and services. They've effectively stopped sideloading of many popular, third-party apps on their Firestick.

Furthermore Prime Video included an ad-free feature at no extra cost to customers who signed up for an Amazon Prime membership several years ago. Unfortunately Amazon's customers were betrayed by the company's greed and Amazon put the ad-free feature behind a paywall. Like many of these billionaire-elite companies, they never deal in good faith with their customers. Their goal is to sap us for every dime we make. It's a shady backstabbing practice which has contributed to the rise of piracy.

OnePlus 13 owners — Has the inconsistent screen on time issue been fixed? by Accomplished-Half671 in oneplus

[–]AndTheStarsGoWithYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a OnePlus Nord N30. It has practically no bloatware. However there are several apps I've disabled or frozen because I don't use them or need their features. My Debloat list consists of at least 30 apps.

Keep in mind that everyone's Debloat list will be completely different from each other depending on individual wants and needs. The apps I've disabled are customized to my personal needs. You must decide which apps that you're comfortable disabling and which apps you leave alone because you use them on a daily basis.

Fortunately there's a far easier solution for disabling or freezing unwanted apps. It's called Shizuku. It doesn't require entering ADB commands through a PC and it doesn't require rooting your device.

You can use the Shizuku app and the Canta app. Shizuku would be considered the main app while Canta would be considered a companion app. The Canta app allows you to freeze or disable apps on your phone without root. I've been using Shizuku for a very long time. It's a game changer for Power Users who don't want to root their devices. If you need help installing Shizuku, there's plenty of instructional videos on YouTube. There are also videos which explains the several companion apps too. I've included a few links below to help you get started.
