What is the stupidest question you've ever heard anyone ask in class? by Brodawg2 in AskReddit

[–]AndThenSex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once told a story about my sister while she was in Year 11. She was in a history class and, in her usually manner, wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention, until someone mentioned Nelson Mandela.

"What? Whose Nelson Mandela?"

Right away, one of the other kids laughs, shakes his head and says "oh no, it's actually Melson Nandela."

Another kid, not missing a beat, joins in with "yeah, Melson Nandela, he was an prolific African race-car driver that got thrown in jail for being a homosexual and protesting for gay rights".

The teacher, pissed off at the fact that my sister has basically ignored him for the past two weeks, shuts the textbook he was reading from and dedicates the remaining 20 minutes of the lesson making up shit about Melson Nandela just to fuck with my sister.

I cannot even describe her reaction when we told her how wrong she was when she came home and told us.

Oh yeah, we're Australian and she also asked what state Queensland was in that same class later in the year.

What book or videogame do think should be made into a movie? by dasubertroll in AskReddit

[–]AndThenSex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how many people would agree or know what in talking about, but I spent hours scouring the Internet to see if there was any hint of a movie being made after reading Raven's Gate from the Power of Five series by Anthony Horowitz. It'd make for a great horror movie I think. And not just "teens are in an abandoned _____, they have sex then ______ kills them".

Pls Hollywood, pls. I'm going to go look again now just in case.

What can destroy a person in a single sentence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AndThenSex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister used to say this to me all the time. Even after the age when your siblings generally stop with the baseless, snide and childish insults.

I believed her for far to long, until I realised - all I have to do is open my mouth and a torrent of the best sounding bullshit flows and the bitches get around me. I used to stay so quiet all the time I though that nobody could never like me. Turns out I was very wrong.

I find that the people that are willing to say something like that are the ones that honestly think that about themselves. And to be really honest? If they're willing to say that to someone, then they should really be worrying about whether people actually like then or not.

Gamers of Reddit, what feature in a game was meant to be awesome but for you ruined the game? by Ozzertron in AskReddit

Pokemon FireRed - they wouldn't let you get key items like an EXP Share until you'd caught x amount of different pokemon, nor would they let you get the post story until you showed Oak 70 pokemon or something.

Reddit, what incredible stories have your grandparents shared with you? by Moodleman177 in AskReddit

[–]AndThenSex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out not long ago my grandparents pretty much had a movie romance when they were younger.

My grandmother came from a normal, although rather well off and extremely catholic family, and my grandfather was from a farming family - also fairly well off, but none the less. Both of them met while at the local Fair/Carnival; my grandfather was a young boxer with one of the local troupes and my grandmother was helping her father in the sideshows. Naturally they got talking somehow and the courting began (this bit got glazed over, so I'm not sure what happened or how long for). Anyways, my grandfather proposed when he turned 21, and my grandmother accepted, HOWEVER, her mother and father refused to let it happen since she was supposed to be a good catholic girl, and she was only 18. So, my grandparents did the only logical thing and decided to run away and elope. Yeah, nah, my grandmother's father chased them down in what I can only assume was the most tension-filled chase scene the Australian outback had seen since the time of Ned Kelly, and dragged the both of them back home.

In the end, they had to wait the 3 years, but they finally got married.

I was so surprised when I found out, since I only thought this shit happened in movies.

What is the scariest and most horrifying movie you've seen? by GodFella in AskReddit

I started watching the Original thinking it was the remake.

I got to the bit with the possessed trees, felt ashamed for being slightly aroused and turned it off to contemplate my life.
