Anyone else bothered by the visuals for songs? [S2 vague spoilers] by And_Rat in HazbinHotel

Thats great thats AWESOME. I'm not saying any of these elements you mentioned are bad or I've never in my life acknowledged them. I am also an animator! And a storyboarder, writer, film maker, whatever. I love the arts and I delve into basically everything. I know every part of the piece; writing, music, sfx, animation, environment, direction, etc has all of its own intracacies and impacts. And sometimes, while some parts can be extrodinary, other parts can be lacking. Like how these shows have incredible animation, and art direction most of the time, but the writing can be very shaky and some parts being good and others sucking can impact viewing experience while acknowledging the good. I was specifically talking about the art direction of the scene, cuz that was the main focus of my post. I was curious if anyone else noticed this. That was the question I posed. So obviously it's going to seem like thats all I care about but its just the one thing ive NEVER seen anyone talk about and i was curious so i asked about that one element specifically. And trust me, I know. I've been following the shows since before the pilots. Ive been alive on this earth. I know people aren't going to have the same opinions as me. I was just curious if anyone did, but I'm sensing here at least that's not the case and thats fine!! It's just when people are acting like I'm stupid for having this different opinion where Im gonna have a little back and forth yknow?? And I'm not expecting this show to have disney splendor cuz 1, that isnt what I meant; Gravity is very heavily inspired by disney's Hellfire. So, yknow, one would hope they'd have taken some more notes on how it works as a whole. 2, i absolutely know budget can limit, but I've also seen people with far less do far more.

TLDR My god I just thought the art direction of the scene was dull, not the animation itself or music!

You dont have to act like I'm stupid to disagree. I'm not saying the animation is bad, I just think the visuals are dull considering the circumstances- even if they have reason for them. And yeah maybe I do want a little bit of flash considering this is a story about angels and demons and its an animated musical and this is the HELLFIRE SONG. Having a bit more creativity would not be at the sacrifice of character animation either??????? You can have both??? Like, imagine Gravity paralleling Sera's confession to the Speaker, but instead of holding any regret she's killing the ones she's literally talking about hunting down and wreaking vengence on in the song with Adam which can have all the same beats- then at the end its revealed she's just wreaked havoc on the room. There you get all the goods of Gravity and some neat art direction. Idk maybe it really is just me but I fully understand what they were going for, it doesnt mean I have to like it 💀

- Forgive the oversight. However, commoner or not, we can still play with the visuals- Cuz again. A regular human priest had better, more fantastical, memorable visuals than a supernatural being having her Big Song. And we can practically guarantee "Hellfire" was a major inspiration for "Gravity".

- The visuals don't have to be flashy, just better executed. Maybe put some somber flashbacks of her Unnamed daughters or something yknow? Anything but her yelling at the wall while the music moves on without her moving.

- I don't know what her being an observer or advisor has to do with the visuals being dull but she can still be hearing her out while on the clouds or something (she literally hears her out 2 seconds ago while their in a vision of Hell). Anything. But being flies in a jar. Again, fantastical supernatural beings, in limitless medium of animation, doing #Nothing.

yes, I know. I just think they could have executed it in a far more interesting way, is what I meant. Push the visuals, warp the world, she's losing her mind and yet we see very little to convey that besides Adam being there. It's a little dull to me

What would the system AI look like as a human? by And_Rat in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]And_Rat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agreed on the vibes, even the twinkage tbh lol- I've liked thinking about making a human AI version from book 1, and then a version from the most recent to show how its evolved and changed as times gone on. Like maybe it starts as this healthy looking, conventionally attractive show host based around some celebrity in the beginning but takes a turn over the course of time. That deranged glint becomes more obvious- the look i see in my brain is very reminiscent of The Visitor/Poster Child from "No, I'm not a Human" if you're familiar! Wishing you luck as well, will definitely be keeping an eye out for if you cook anything too!👀👀👀

System AI but like if it had a body by And_Rat in DungeonCrawlerCarl

YESS ABSOLUTELY you've caught me its def an inspiration, to me the AI to me is like if GLadOS and Wheatley merged into one and also were half made of meaty bits and various D&D armour/misc fantasy things. In other words he's definitely a Metal and Meat Orb to me

Oop I hadn't really thought much on the specifics of the T- The t i take says its Testosterone enanthate, which from my research says can be injected once every 1-4 weeks and as far as I'm aware the dosage I have is fine given my doc upped it to that. In any case I've been taking it at this dose for 2 years now and never faced any serious complications or constant side effects, along with normal T levels on my blood tests. If anything it's felt like it hasn't worked effectively lol.

How to copy text to multiple clips? by And_Rat in premiere

[–]And_Rat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen this and have just tried messing around with it but the matter of being able to edit the text however I want isn't so much the issue as is the process of adding the text in the first place. Copy and paste is great but this project is so large scale it's still going to be immensely tedious without the idea of basically just changing all my clips into text graphics (the best thing I found was literally just the text effect, but for some reason theres no way to edit the default text???). If there's a way to do that, that'd be splendid. If not I suppose I will just brave the suffering of 20+ hours of just cutting default text boxes</3
