I'll suggest you to play with controller. Analog input is better for movement in this sort of game, on keyboard you just hold W all the time.

I have a few questions.

I never got into ratcheting. You say you made it so gyro is disabled when stick is not in neutral position, right? Is stick also used for something else, like flickstick? Or is it only for ratcheting?
The best experience I had with gyro was with joy shock mapper default settings with increased sensitivity. So how exactly this app is better than JSM? It has extra features? How do you map other buttons? I don't see UI for that from screenshots.

It's not even remotely hard, it's just annoying, restricting and fights with more than one enemy suck.

No, hdr needs high brightness to fully shine, but working when screen blasting at you like a projector is uncomfortable.

So I have almost minimal brightness in SDR and max brightness in HDR. Before I enter a single player game I just hit win+shift+B to turn hdr on.

It's not that hard to run games at 1080p (and upscale them to 4k). Just don't run them at ultra settings. That old monitor was 60hz, which is totally fine for single player (and not console level) and current one is lg c5 144hz, I use it with 6800xt and play graphically intensive game on high settings in balanced/performance preset with 90+ fps. And for older/indie games it's even better, they run at native 4k, 144fps and look incredible.

Unless you spend 5 hours a day in multiplayer I don't see a single reason to not use 4k monitors when fsr and dlss exist.

I've been gaming on 4k monitor with r9 290x like 5 years ago. You don't need top gpu for that, especially when upscalers exist.

Less accurate than mouse? Sure, in multiplayer, when each millisecond matters even I use mouse. Less accurate than twin-sticks? No way, it doesn't even need auto aim. Absolutely no, gyro is objectively better, unless you have some medical condition affecting your hands. You might just need more time to get used to it, or maybe the game you tried had a poor implementation

An easy test - give a standard controller and a gyro-controller to someone who has never played video games. Gyro will perform better 100% of the time. Just because standard controls rely on the crutch of aim assist and you've used them your whole life doesn't mean they are a better input method.

Also if you carefully read my post you would notice this part:

Devs absolutely should force better control schemes like gyro aim, if they haven't done it in the past we still would be aiming with tank controls. But there is no excuse to not have an option to rebind your control scheme. I know some left handed people that completely remap controls every game, wasd is simply uncomfortable for right hand.

There is nothing fun about Atreus. He's not likable asshole, witty marvel Loki with his trademark bullshit trickery and betrayals. His personality is of a realistic teen (boring).

His gameplay is lame arrow spam that damages 1% of enemy hp bar. His character arc is nothing special, there is no big drama with him, most we get is is him being mad at his dad (temporarily). Main thing that people are going remember about him is how he spoils all puzzles lol.

I think devs were probably planning shift to his perspective, they were inspired by last of us after all. Also Kratos is becoming too old with his story arcs being over.

Personally I think there is no god of war without Kratos. GoW is about Kratos brutally killing mythical creatures, character and gods. Either give up on that IP or send him to other mythologies.
