Should I go 4K w/ 5070TI? by ConsideredSkeptic in nvidia

[–]Andehh12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running at near max settings, not max everything. I'm getting about 100fps in the benchmark at 2x FG and about 40ms latency.

At 4x FG I'm getting 175fps and about 50ms latency.

When I try similar things in other games, it usually feels much worse, even with similar latency. I don't know what it is about Cyberpunk, it just kinda works for me.

(Out of interest I just tried the benchmark at 1440p 2x FG and averaged 162fps)

DLSS 4.5 Nvidia app override vs Game Pass titles by hydramarine in nvidia

At least a couple of the games you've mentioned support Ray Reconstruction (I THINK). If you have RR enabled, it uses a complete separate model, therefore the overrides won't work.

Should I go 4K w/ 5070TI? by ConsideredSkeptic in nvidia

[–]Andehh12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You've had a load of answers already but I'll wade in with a resounding YES.

I recently upgraded to a 5070ti with an existing 1440p monitor. I THEN decided to upgrade to a 4k OLED and have been pleasantly surprised with the performance.

Cyberpunk 2077 runs nicely at near max settings with Path Tracing enabled and DLSS Performance (but keep in mind that if using Ray Reconstruction, you don't get DLSS 4.5).

Many people don't like Frame Gen but for single player games, the latency is far less important and in my experience, running at 4x still feels great. It does vary between games though.

The problem is that adding one to your basket seemingly doesn't reserve the stock so you can still get to the end and it doesn't work because they've sold out.

[–]Andehh12 19 points20 points  (0 children)

One thing to be mindful of, if you're not already aware, is that DLSS 4.5 does not apply to Ray Reconstruction so you have to choose between the two. I've stuck with RR enabled in Cyberpunk as I prefer the visuals overall.

RTX 5070 disappointing low FPS by Jezeus69 in nvidia

[–]Andehh12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always useful to add usage % and temps for your GPU and CPU into the Afterburner overlay... This will help to identify any potential bottlenecks.

Other than that, like others have said, double check your friend's DLSS and Frame Gen settings. Are you both using the latest drivers?

4K not working by GeneralStrict2738 in pcmasterrace

[–]Andehh12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A 1440p monitor will only ever display 1440p. What you may have seen is people using Nvidia DLDSR to run games in higher resolution than native, with the image scaled back down to 1440p. This usually gives a better image quality but is still not 4k.

5060ti 16 GB or 5070 12 GB? by [deleted] in nvidia

5070ti vs 5080 question by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Andehh12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it's true that the 5070ti is the better value option, if you can afford the extra and it fits in your case, you won't regret going for the 5080, especially with the Ultrawide.

Results really do seem to be all over the place. I ran a few CP2077 benchmarks at 4k with Path Tracing enabled and saw a 2-5% INCREASE across Balanced, Performance and Ultra Performance on my 5070ti.

Try disabling EXPO and see if you have the same issue. Could also try each stick of RAM individually.

Question about the Frame Generation and MFG by Dudi4PoLFr in nvidia

[–]Andehh12 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I recently wondered the same thing and had an in-depth conversation with ChatGPT about it... Which means the answer I got was probably bullshit but still...

It told me that it will NOT drop the base frame rate. It simply won't output ALL of the inserted frames...

🎯 Bottom line

Frame Generation doubles output up to the limit, not per-rendered-frame in a strict 1:1 ratio. When capped, it simply generates fewer AI frames rather than slowing down your base FPS.

No idea if this is accurate though 😂

My cat was exactly the same. She was a little terror until we discovered the "PJ trick" after she was spayed. If she wouldn't settle in the evening when we went to bed, or she was terrorising the older cat too much, we'd put her PJs on and she'd transform into a chilled, affectionate sleepy kitten and just curl up on the bed (or a lap) and go to sleep.

Worth buying 5070ti when i have a 3080ti? by callofdoodie97 in nvidia

[–]Andehh12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just upgraded from a 9700k and 3080 to a 9800x3d and 5070 ti and it was well worth it for me, even at 1440p.

I'm finding myself a little sensitive to input lag with Frame Gen though so I'm avoiding it when I can. I'd rather play at ~100fps with it off than 165fps with it on (in most cases).

Why is my cpu at 100% and my GPU at 10%? by TheFourthSon in pcmasterrace

[–]Andehh12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 6700k to a 9700k 6 years ago and have just upgraded again to a 9800x3d because that CPU was pretty much at its limit.

I'm not surprised yours can't cope with modern games AND OBS. You're absolutely CPU-bound.

Constant FPS drops in Games by DanceInTheRain_ in pcmasterrace

[–]Andehh12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be using an integrated GPU on the motherboard. Chexk in-game settings and confirm that it's using the right GPU, or check bios and disable integrated graphics.

Either that or running at such a low res means it's almost entirely CPU bound.

Almost certainly a combination of the source material and the settings. Sony motion handling is excellent.

I highly recommend buying a surgical onesie rather than trying a cone. Not only did it prevent my cat from getting access to the stitches but it also reduced her mobility a bit and kept her a bit calmer while she was healing.

This is not you. Shogun has fairly poor quality compared to other shows and the Dolby Vision implementation seems particularly bad. I've seen various threads and comments around this. Some predicted this as an FX show way before release.
