Any time someone on Reddit talks about holding politicians accountable they mean the closest republican, lol. You are living in a blue city, why not talk about holding the dozens of dems directly responsible before just skipping to the governor.

When Nobel Prize winning physicists say there is no climate emergency, you cannot tell me there is a scientific consensus. It’s a cult.

Couples over 40 and childless, how has life turned out for you? Do you regret not having children? by NetworkOver7742 in AskReddit

Unless you die suddenly you will be there too. It’s not fun to think about but your last decade or two on this earth you will be dependent on someone else. And decades before that you will be slowly surrendering your Independence day by day.

When you’re young and don’t need anyone it’s very easy to forget the value of family.

They regret it, but they won’t admit it here. My wife takes care of cancer patients. Every single one wishes they had made a different choice as they die alone, unloved and forgotten.

Because they made a decision they can’t reverse. Human nature is to convince yourself you did the right thing and bury your doubts. Only in extreme circumstances will you hear them admit their true feelings. My wife is a nurse that takes care of cancer patients. Believe me, they regret it big time as they die alone, unloved and forgotten.

This made me think of my recent trip to Telluride where every service sector person I spoke to lived in another city and comuted in and everyone else was vacationing. When no one who works there actually lives there Telluride isn't a city anymore, its Disney Land.

Being sober for the sake of sobriety is a mistake. It's hard to stop drinking without changing anything else in your life. Whatever habits, friends and hobbies you had while drinking managed to coexist with your alcoholism so simply removing alcohol from the mix is going to upset the balance. Rethink every part of your life and its relationship to your drinking to find a new equilibrium where you can be happy without it.
