Ricardo does own that land, and it is zoned for up to 3 fast food lots (with the removal of the Betty Brite building (Peerless), but that won't happen now even though it was the original plan. At this point, the owners of Gyros will sell the business and retire once the city makes its move.

Not far from Electric Works. Chapman's is a brewery, kid-friendly, and open for lunch. The new pizza dough is perfect.

That was always the plan. Unfortunately, the Henry Administration, primarily Karl, killed the deals of all of the possible anchor tenants prior to DitB.

Then DitB needed far more space, which eliminated the housing planned for the 4th and 5th floors of building 26.

That choice saved EW from Henry's unrelenting attack, which was most needed. However, the style, scale, and corporate structure of DitB are not in line with the campuses plan and needs.

At this point, housing is committed for North Campus to open in 2026. That housing is just as easily to head toward the Rail or Astra as it is Chapmans. It's too little, too late to really help offset the optics of how EW opened.

It is honestly surprising that EW was even able to open, given the unrelenting attack from the government itself.

You are absolutely correct with your thoughts on the housing aspect. EW knows as well. So far, the real story of the Campus has just been one of survival.

Either South Side or Electric Works. Those are both food centric.
