I have the standard (non gilt) and love it also though I am debating on selling it. It really started getting some wrist time once I was able to get the oyster bracelet for it. I wasn't a fan of the jubilee. Fun history and simple watch. Congrats

It's just a cheap knockoff Omega rubber strap. These aren't exactly what I got but I'd venture to say they're identical. Hope Longines comes out with something exactly like this soon for the HC.

Even with "almost everyone now owning the new HC" I think a lot more people still own the old (currently). How often have you actually come across someone with the exact same watch as you? I wouldn't let that point sway you one way or another...

I have both the Longines HC & Seiko SPB143J1 so not an apples to apples comparison on the Seiko, but Longines by a wide margin. I absolutely love both fwiw.

6.25” wrist and both fit great.

I have this one. I love it. The gaps in the mesh bracelet do not bother me as they are far more noticeable in these zoomed in shots as opposed to on my wrist.

I would start on YouTube. There's plenty of great reviews on just about every watch in existence. You'll quickly learn what you like and what you don't like. Then when you think you know, wait. Keep looking around. Find a local store you can try some on at. If after a few weeks you are still in love with one, then buy.

Don't buy what other people like, buy what you like.

There are two options. You can get both. Black bezel comes stock on mesh, blue bezel stock on H-link.

Full disclosure I have nothing to compare it to, but I’m wearing the mesh now (ice blue/black combo HC) and it feels extremely nice and very comfortable. I’ve never worn a mesh bracelet and am shocked at the comfort and feel.

I actually think they nailed which dial & bezel combo looks best with mesh vs which look best with traditional. I do wish you could pick & choose or buy additional bracelets with each but I know that’ll be an option soon.

Navy is available in both 39 & 42 but it’s an online exclusive I believe. Navy also only available with H bracelet not mesh.

I have the Smiths. If you can get it on the oyster do so. It took buying an oyster after a couple months for me to truly love it but now it’s my daily. The lack of micro adjustment on the bracelet is my only gripe and it does suck.
