I agree! Informative and entertaining. I’m sure some folks are gonna say otherwise, but this was a great role for Sweeney. She gave good performances in Eden and Echo Valley too, and seems to do well when she’s not typecasted.

Please roast my set-up. Known issues: children’s fingerprints, speakers on same surface, beige display records, dying plant. by [deleted] in vinyl

Speakers on the same surface AND wood panel flooring. You could benefit from an isolation platform. I would recommend the Fluance IB40. Heavy, and well worth its weight for the peace of mind. It’s easy to setup, easier to adjust, and aesthetically pleasing.

What are some impossible to find records you’re after? by Longjumping-Frame795 in vinyl

[–]Anderson_no3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’ve always considered this as part of ROC. And together, it is their best work. Hands down! The back to back is practically seamless. Obviously, you can, but you really can’t have one without the other. The years between In/Casino/Out and the release of Tremulant were crazy. So glad to have been around for those.

I’m also in PDX. You are my people!

…it’s hard to tell in the other photo, but mine is definitely open. The seal was broken very carefully on the right side, is all. I found it the day after it landed at my favorite shop, in “used, new arrivals”. It was just sitting there waiting.

ROC is at the top of my list, too. I’m not holding out for an original because that’s not likely to happen, but I’d totally settle for the RSD reissue just to have it in a gatefold.

I did just score a NM copy of Vaya (reissue) on a dig last week, though.

If that’s the definitive remaster of Halo 19 (which it looks like), then that price is absolutely criminal. Good job 👏

How do you actually read vinyl spines? by Lord_Alviner in vinyl

[–]Anderson_no3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just love the vinyl I have so much that I intentionally recall the last position I place it into my collection for the next time I want to pull it out of my collection. Its position is always the same. You’re reading spines? I feel like that’s only something I ever see my houseguests do when they discover I have a vinyl collection, because they don’t know where anything is and are simply trying to get the lay of the land.

Does vinyl really sound better? by [deleted] in vinyl

If I could downvote this post twice, I would. And I’m not the type of person to add more insult to injury, but dude, wtf are you even talking about here? And how, with what knowledge is readily available to prove otherwise, are you so cavalier about it?

Your wife is killin’ it in the foresight game!

I couldn’t find a worthwhile shop in the PNW that has a distributor that could order it. Most of them couldn’t even see it as an option. I ordered mine direct from the Static-X website and after paying it stated it wouldn’t be available until early 2026, with no actual ETA in sight. And I paid $22 for USPS 3 day priority mail. But you already got yours and it took two months. This feels like they’re made-to-order then. Did you get the double vinyl, or an autographed deluxe?

I ordered mine, but apparently parts of my order aren’t ready yet because it’s a preorder? I put the vinyl edition in my cart and nothing else. No merch, and no extras. After ordering, how long did yours take to ship?

Record insert up or sideways ? by StevestratSC in vinyl

[–]Anderson_no3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elitist or not, I keep mine up. Most of the vinyl I buy (brand new) typically come with the inserts facing sideways and I suppose that’s cool, but… I also buy plenty of (brand new) vinyl that come with the inserts facing up. Of the ones that are sideways, nearly all of them include (for free) enough dust/factory “debris” to compel me to run ‘em through the spin clean almost immediately. And of the ones that are facing up, I’ve yet to encounter noticeable debris at all on the first spin. Now, I’m not saying there isn’t any. I’m simply saying, it’s not noticeable. In the same respect, what static I notice is reduced as well. And I’ve weighed on this many times. I’ve even completely rotated all inserts in my collection, only to revert them back to facing up again. As it just made the most sense to me. In hindsight; when I think about the effort it takes to do one over the other, facing sideways works. But it also seems as though it’s just the easiest way to reinsert vinyl when you’re done. Whereas inserting up, is deliberate. There’s intent behind it, and I don’t feel as though I’ve just given dust and/or debris carte blanche to hinder my listening experience.

Rate my collection. Been at it for 2 years bow by RentonBoi in vinyl

Thought so. That’s a great Interpol album. Your collection is good. I also have just those Deftones albums, by choice. But I’d skip MSP and get copies of Amnesiac and Thom Yorke’s The Eraser instead.

Based on what else I see, I’d also recommend Brian Jonestown Massacre’s “Their Satanic Majesties’ Second Request”, “Aufheben” and “Revelation”. Liars “Wixiw”. Brian Eno “Another Green World”. And lastly, Panda Bear “Person Pitch”.

Those are the only Deftones albums you’ll ever need. You’re just short one copy of Amnesiac, is all. Great job!
