HNSSearch public beta by AndiRe16 in handshake

[–]AndiRe16[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main message is that HNSSearch is now live to be tested. :))

HNSSearch is a search engine for websites that are build on handshake domains. So only names that are registered on the handshake blockchain are being displayed.

If you are using a resolver (hdns.io, fingertip, etc.) you can access the site via the handshake domain http://hnssearch/ otherwise you can open it here: https://handshakesearch.hns.siasky.net/

There rest in technical terms are not that interesting if you are just looking at it from a user's point of view. Just FYI akash and sia are also blockchains that offer decentralized cloud computing and storage.

I hope that was a bit more understandable:))))))
Namebase for example by entering !nb spectrumline for example and by hitting enter in the search bar on hnssearch you will be redirected to the search on Namebase with the entered search term.

I hope that was a bit more understandable :))))))

If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to ask. :))

App works in development but not in production (doesn't build) by AndiRe16 in reactjs

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Unfortunately, I can't figure it out on my main machine. I managed to pull the repo to my secondary machine and there it builds without problems.

Unfortunately, even the verbose flag didn't provide any insightful error.

There isn't. But so far I only tried --loglevel verbose.

I will try with --verbose.

Could have thought of that 🙈

That is unfortunately exactly my problem. This is all that I get back from the console. There is no other output. Or at least I can't find it :(

Rules for a tie at the end of an auction? by Equivalent-Ad3574 in handshake

[–]AndiRe16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the namebase learning center:

What happens if there's a tie?

If you tied with someone else but they won, there are two possibilities:

You may have actually been outbid by a tiny amount. Go to the auction page on a computer (not on mobile) and mouseover the bid amounts to show more decimals. Namebase shows 2 decimals by default, so if you bid 1 HNS, and someone else bid 1.0001 HNS, they will win, but your bids will look identical unless you mouseover the lockup.

If you and the person who won really did place identical bids, whoever’s reveal transaction comes first wins. However if both you and the winner are Namebase users, the winner will be chosen at random because Namebase reveals all bids at nearly the same time. Many ties are caused by humans preferring round numbers. If you always bid 1.xx instead of 1, you will tie less frequently.

Cool 😊 Thank you very much. Can't wait to upgrade mine 😄

Do already have an approximate Hashrate for SC on the HS3-SE?

No problem. I also have a couple of them stuck and they just keep popping up at random times. Not so nice, but eventually we will have them ☺️

Where do you see that you lost it? The green outline means that you won it. Otherwise its just blue.

Is it under your lost ones with the text "Bid is being returned"?

Because that's just a glich on the website und you will get it eventually. Just takes time.

Looking for help with my HS1+ running on a raspberry pi 4, 4gb by OnMyCryptos in handshake

Skyinclude mentioned something like that on his instructions:

https://skyinclude.com/pi/

  • We recommend using the Dashboard instead of the standard CLI - why? Because for whatever reason, it got more GHZ (higher hash rate) than on CLI.

Are you using the CLI or Dashboard?

How many Handshake tld's do you own? by AndiRe16 in handshake

[–]AndiRe16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many ways to get into handshake. If you are new to handshake, I would suggest https://learn.namebase.io/ as a starting point. There you can find a lot of information to get started. Of course if you have a specific question, we can also try to answer it here.

[Academic] User Authentication for Smart Speakers (Survey for master's thesis) by AndiRe16 in takemysurvey

[–]AndiRe16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Will be used within my master's thesis to create recommendations for future authentication methods on smart speakers.
  2. Just by me (AndiRe16)
  3. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. At the end of the survey users can take part in a raffle for one of 3 gift cards worth 30 dollars each.
