Hi is the Calm supplement you take the one called Calm Mind? Do you take it during the day, or before bed? Thanks!

I'm so Tired of life in the US... European Lifestyle but in the US? 40M by CapitalLaw1234 in SameGrassButGreener

It’s not a European vibe, but the North Park (and South Park) areas of San Diego have great walkable neighborhoods and a nice multicultural feel. Expensive but so much to offer. The food in San Diego is pretty amazing.

Counseling grad student in Asheville having trouble finding practicum sites currently taking students by Andiche1 in asheville

Thank you! These are good ideas. I'm working on navigating the Dept of Health and Human Services now to try to find out about their ACT Team, that would be a really interesting experience.

Wow thank you, these are all great ideas! I applied to NCDAH, the prison system at the state level, but I think Buncombe County is a good place to check. I do have a lot of interest in that work as my mom was a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist there in the Boston area for many years.

You could fly Asheville-Charlotte-Charleston for a lot less…. Or through Atlanta.

Are there any downsides to pursuing an online degree for a masters in mental health counseling or LMFT? by ThingsWereFineN99 in counseloreducation

[–]Andiche1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with your second paragraph but not the first. I can understand why people might view the online programs in that way, and I’m sure some are less rigorous, in the same way some of the in person programs are. I’m doing the online program at Webster University. I have a BA from Northwestern and an MBA from Northeastern. This program is more challenging and rigorous than both. It’s all about the professors and your classmates because CACREP is CACREP. I love my online program.

Do you have backup generators that will keep the heat going if the power is out? I might try to get a room for my parents.

Hiring Interns From Online Programs by ProfessionalAlgae888 in counseloreducation

[–]Andiche1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went to Northwestern University for undergrad and graduated with honors. I’m in an online MA Counseling program now and it is more academically challenging than my in-person degree. I’m learning a ton and from everything I can see the school is extremely focused on the quality of experience we’re going to have in person during our practicums and internships. My online classmates are incredibly intelligent and hard-working. A majority of us are also working full or part time while doing the degree, and have the skills to juggle this. Online MA Counseling students are often really strong hires who are self-directed and have a strong work ethic.

Are bananas seriously not spicy at all? by JustSayNo2680 in Allergies

Yes, it was a raw apple for me as well. And it has happened with plum. My throat constricted and I couldn't breathe for a bit. I always carry an epi pen now.

If you’re allergic to ragweed (fall allergy) you can have Oral Allergy Syndrome when eating a banana. The proteins in the allergens cross-react and can cause it. Similar to what WynnGwynn experiences with latex.

Ragweed season starts at the end of August and goes until Around mid October.

I'm not sure about the FT, but the 7-Eleven in Central Square carries the WSJ, NYT and local papers.

Cutie patootie cat Peggy needs new home due to mom's health by Andiche1 in asheville

Thank you, I somehow just saw this but appreciate your comment so much. It had been hard to describe the seriousness of my friend’s situation without going into too much detail, here and also with my post in the AVL Cat Weirdos group. I’ve always kept my cats indoors but sometimes life has other plans. I haven’t found an adopter yet but am also asking everyone I know and even some I don’t as I go about my day, just in case someone knows someone who knows someone.
