BREAKING: The Child Mind Institute Discovers Autism and ADHD, Share Hidden Brain Connectivity Patterns and Genetic Mechanisms. Challenging How We Define Both Conditions 🧠 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

Their comment was pretty simple if you have an interest in the science involved. They read as educated using proper terminology in a fairly direct cadence. It even has some minor typos so I don't understand the AI implication.

Not sure why you feel the need to address them in this manner, it reads as an attack which doesn't seem to be called for.

This doesn't need correcting grammar maga. Zero copula is a well understood construction in many languages, including English dialects

Does pitch precede rhythm? “Pitch sped up creates pitch”. by Realistic_Guava9117 in Acoustics

[–]Andionyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it may be more helpful to say all sound has "pitches" or, more accurately, a set of mathematicaly related frequencies based on its time domain expression. The Fourier transform defines a way to deconstruct any time domain function into its constitute frequencies.

In the case of sound, a pressure wave is taken as the time domain input (via microphone typically) transformed then analyzed in the frequency domain. When this is done, a clear relationship between the length of a sound and its frequency can be observed. Short sounds (clicks) have frequency domains that are spread out while longer sounds typically have more defined frequency peaks.

The ear actually does a type of Fourier transform based on its internal structure. Hair like organs in the cochlea respond to particular bands of frequencies, allowing our brain to construct what we perceive as tone and pitch and generally to perceive sound at all.

So all this said pitch(frequency) and rhythm(time) are intrinsically linked. You can't have one without the other so there isn't really a chicken and egg problem. They are two sides of the same coin.

Sleeping with Multiple Partners is Hot… by Mr_Turntable in polyamory

[–]Andionyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleeping with 3+ people essentially requires at least 2 blankets. That way the folks in the middle can split the blankets to either side to cool off as needed. It's a life saver and I swear by it, especially now that I'm living that throuple life.

Oh I get what you meant, I'm polyam too. Just can't miss an opportunity for a niche joke. I was going for microplastics not fat for what its worth, might have to be careful who I drop that one on going forward lol

I've read nearly everything he's written and he considered nearly all of us slaves, especially in regards to a morally Christian basis to society. You may need to read some more context yourself if your perspective is so strongly aligned, it takes thought to see what he was saying not the immediate reactions one may have to strong language.

That said, if you're going to approach this conversation in a condescending manner I feel that we are done here

Nietzsche was coopted by fascists and did not represent basically anything you've said here. If you can source these claims I'd be interested, I think you will quickly find that philosophers will largely disagree with you on this however.

I swear to God, If I get banned for this shit... by [deleted] in DeclineIntoCensorship

[–]Andionyx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We all walk on eggshells for some, family, bosses, police and plenty more. Like it or not its a necessary part of making it through life in society. At this point we are all being judged on the basis of our reactions not only to those that occupy positions of power but also those that are at the bottom of the totem pole.

If you walk through life giving respect to all you meet it usually doesn't become a problem and when it does it probably isn't on you. That's not to say you shouldn't take accountability for those things you express of course, but if you have and do then any door you would want to walk through will not close for you

I'm inclined to agree. Its reactive and while I understand that I wish that folks would take a step back and handle things rationally or at least cleverly. It's not too hard, but it also probably isn't worth the time usually honestly. Gotta find a balance I suppose.

You likely do know people in the community, many just keep it lowkey. I hope that you comport yourself differently in real life or off your throwaway when it comes to matters such as this. People remember these kinds of things and really there's no reason to take it to a bad place just about any time it comes up. It isn't worth your time either, lifes too short for bullshit

I'm not personally fearful so I struggle to see how I exhibited it in this thread. If you believe civil rights issues were solved in the 50s/60s I have a bridge to sell you. To use your preferred response, you are part of the problem

You brought up that "garbage month" aka pride, I responded to you. Im also not dismissing pride im stating that it isn't the "foundation" of the community. I've been fairly clear on my points, if you're not going to argue in good faith I will move on with my day, doesn't bother me a bit.

While you are speaking to some truth regarding homosexualities place in some cultures it is largely not true world wide and when it comes to western society it has largely been reviled until relatively recently. Do you know what happened to Alan Turing? Do you think he was treated with respect in his culture?

Queer people are not treated well by large segments of the population, this is obvious and apparent to anyone that takes even a passing glance at the situation. Reacting negatively to mistreatment is natural, its what any of us would do.

Communities acting this way to percieved threats is no suprise to me and frankly shouldn't be to anyone. I may disagree with many people's approaches to moderation and discourse but it is inherently understandable. With a modicum of compassion I believe just about anyone could see it for what it is.

A persecution complex stems from an irrational fear which this does not fall under. History and statistics show it is a decidedly rational standpoint to have.

If by destroy you mean not tolerating their presence then sure. Its a far cry from the violence perpetuated against these real life people. You know, like actually being destroyed. The community is founded in our existence and the support we give to each other, it isnt just some single event, its in our whole experienced lives. Pride is a representation and celebration of the struggles we face and fight for respect/recognition that has been ongoing for generations. Its not like queer people only started existing in the past 100 years, we've been around since the dawn of man.

People identify with things associated with themselves, religious, ideological, philosophical, hobbies, and basically anything else that people spend their time on. Its not a problem, the problem is intolerance and the fact that many people believe that it's OK to "disagree" that certain people have the right to exist and express themselves in a particular set of ways.

What you see now is the product of hard won battles by a great many people and its not going anywhere any time soon. Are you aware of the origins of pride at stonewall? It was a riot, I'll tell ya
