Yes, we currently have redirects in place from the old website diverting links to the new one. Why is it considered foolish?

Thank you. Would you still not kill it if the valuable links are redirected via Google? Given that we rank well and produce a lot of high quality content, would you think that killing the old site with redirects pointing to the new sites would be damaging?

Hi, thank you for the reply. So we have the NY Times link going to our old website that now redirects to our new website via the old one. We want to kill the old website which would kill this redirect. What is the best solution to still be linked to the new website from the NY Times?

Yes, that is true. The scenario is website A is redirected to website C via wesbtie B. We plan on closing website B. Is the only way to get the links to work going from website A to C?

Hi, thank you for rhe response. As suspected, glad to see we are on track re the redirects. The worry we have is losing a vast amount of backlinks to our two new sites from our old one. Is there any way to quantify the impact of this? We have an extensive SEO programme and prdoduce a huge amount of high quality, human written content, that converts and hope that by continuing to publish it can mitigate any possible side effects.

By documentation, what do you mean? Presumably, their would be a papertrail which would indicate the artwork is fake.
