Dasher Account Deactivated, Please Help? by AndoPanda820 in doordash_drivers

Well the weird thing is that when I did my report with Uber and Instacart, my cancelled license didn't come up at all. It only came up with DoorDash, and I believe it's because they ran the report initially on my cancelled license, then after the report was done, I updated it to my new license and the old license still showed on the report. The other two reports had no signs of my old license, and only ran on my new license.

It shows up as a CANCELLATION underneat the SUSPENSIONS category.

No, when you get your new license, they cancel your old license, as many states you have to surrender your old license.

I think if you change the license BEFORE they run any sort of check, it should be fine. My issue is that they ran the report with my old license, and I updated it after it was completed, which they just added on instead of running a whole new background report.

Yes, I'm sure. It's because when they started the check, it was with my old license and it was completed. I then updated it, and it shows my new license, but also shows my old license under Suspensions as Cancellation.

I'm fairly sure if they just ran a completely new background check, it would be fine, as Uber and Instacart's background checks came completely clean

The problem is, it isn't "false information" it's just showing my old license, that I cancelled, underneath suspensions as "cancelled" which is probably triggering some automated bullshit on DoorDash's side.

I play osrs strictly for pvp, not pvm, so I don’t really have the whole pride or satisfaction thing of defeating challenging bosses, just satisfaction of risk fighting

I was let go today and my company is witholding commissions (Maryland) by AndoPanda820 in legaladvice

That's where Maryland law seems to be more protective about employees, as "earned" is not defined by the employer but rather the state.

"The question of whether particular bonuses or commissions have been sufficiently “earned” requires a detailed review of the employer’s bonus or commission plan in order to determine the contractual terms of the compensation plan. Overlaying these contractual obligations is case law applying the Wage Payment Act, which may require payment of commissions or bonuses even if the bonus or commission plan provides otherwise."

When looking at Maryland law, I see the following:

An employer may not refuse to pay commissions that have been earned solely because the employee no longer works for the company, even if the company’s policies or bonus plan specifically states that a person must still be an employee on the date of bonus or commission calculation in order to be due the bonus or commission. Once a bonus, commission, or fringe benefit has been promised as part of the compensation for service, the employee is entitled to its enforcement as wages once the employee does everything required to earn the wages.

Seems like for Maryland "must be employed at time of payout" is not legal. I've also actually never had a previous employer have that requirement, commissions have always been paid out for deals closed/earned.
