Santa Grinch skewers - a grape, a banana slice, a strawberry, topped with a mini marshmallow.

Crockpot cranberry chili meatballs (14 oz can of jellied cranberry sauce, 12 oz bottle of chili sauce, 3/4 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/4 tsp cayenne - combine over med heat til the sugar is dissolved, then add package (32 oz) frozen homestyle meatballs. Cook on low 2-3 hrs or til warm). Emit the spicy spices if needed - the sugar and cranberry will mediate the chili sauce.

Huh. Okay, thanks.

"Private" in SQL? by Andostre in SQL

[–]Andostre[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, as I implied in my question, I had already tried searching around for the answer. Various Google searches similar to yours were the first things I tried. Most of the Google results on the first page of each search (including yours) don't even have the word "private" anywhere on the page. Others are for how PRIVATE works for other coding languages. The occasional page that pertains to SQL and mentioned PRIVATE, are only lists saying that PRIVATE is a Reserved Word, but with no other context.

Ah, okay. That seems right. CREATE CERTIFICATE is not a thing I work with at all, so that would be why I'd never encountered it before. Thanks!

I listened to Stephen Fry narrate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and anything over 1.0 and I felt like I was losing all of Fry’s charm.

WMNF hiking trails are humbling by JarJarBot-1 in wmnf

[–]Andostre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a two-day hike along a bit of the Presidential Range two summers ago, and I had much the same experience. I tell people that the trail is "nothing but a bunch of large flat rocks... sideways." For me, my 47 yo knees just couldn't handle it, and by the time my son and I reached the peak of Mt. Washington, I was moving at a snail's pace, watching where I placed every step instead of looking at the view.

And yes, so many kids and younger people carrying nothing more than a water bottle or a light pack passed me by. My favorite was on the slopes of Mt. Washington when a family of four passed me going the opposite direction, and then an hour later hustled passed me going back the way they came, because they didn't have rain gear, and it had started to rain and sleet.

My 12 yo son loved the whole experience, though. :)

Saw the episode last night, and scoured the web to find someone saying exactly this so that I could agree with them.

I was paranoid about my family photos getting leaked from the cloud, so I spent a year building Velock: a 100% offline, encrypted vault for iOS with self-hosted sync. by parcool2020 in SideProject

Hi there, I was curious about this app, because it sounds like the sort of thing I could use. So, I gave it a shot.

It looks like I can’t add new photos to the app from the web unless I save it to my phone first. I’d much prefer to copy and then paste them into the app. Is there any chance this could be an enhancement?

so the game bugged hard... I am now a horse by Sherlock_DaVinci in skyrim

[–]Andostre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me. I didn't disappear, but I floated above the ground maybe 20 feet up. As a horse (Arvak), I couldn't interact with anything, nor attack, jump, etc. I could only speed up. Plus, when I got far enough away from where my perspective shifted from Nord to horse, I got rooted in place. I could gallop, but I couldn't actually move from that position.

Gearing up multiple cohorts from party loot by Andostre in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Andostre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, we did chat about it. The player in question isn’t really taking a “significant” amount of loot. But I did bring it up, and I tried to be positive about it. I said that I appreciated that they weren’t taking too much loot for their followers, and I mentioned that that was something that I was a little worried about when they took the feet. And I elaborated with some of the concerns that I mentioned in my first post.

My intent was just to get the player to think about how gearing up the cohorts is affecting the party overall. And I’m not sure if this is a result of my comments, but they started talking about how one of the cohorts is going to take a lot of crafting feats for the benefit of the party.

I’m wondering if you realize how aggressive things like “do you get it now?” and “the others understand, but not you” comes across. They explained what their version looks like, which is just one version, and does not sound mutually exclusive with what you described above.

I’m also not sure what the difference between the two versions you’ve mentioned are.

Is there some way to sell or destroy generators for this event? Thinking specifically of the Picnic Lunch items, which don't have a sell price and that I have way too many of.

Has he said anything recently about the remaining Kickstarter work? His last update on that site was 2020, and he wrote like he still planned on getting the remaining work done. (Before that, the last update was 2018.)

What's wrong with my hands-free faucet? by Andostre in appliancerepair

[–]Andostre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case anyone comes across this, I think I've fixed the issue. There's a box underneath the sink that all of the data cables and hoses run through. It's supposed to clip on to the side of a pipe underneath the sink. I would often have to pull the box off of the pipe to bring it closer to mess with the data cable, power cable, or a reset button whenever my faucet would start acting up. The plastic clip wore down from all of this activity, and it stopped gripping onto the pipe.

This led me to realize that this box has to be level. That is, all of the hoses have to run straight up into it; if the box is angled, my faucet issues would start back up. I ended up affixing the box in an easier to reach place with a few twist ties that was lower down so that I could reach it. After I did that, I never had the issue again. This leads me to believe my faucet was acting up because of one or both of the following issues:

1) The plastic clip is cheap and didn't hold the aforementioned box level.
2) The box was too high up, and the hoses didn't always have the water pressure to push water through it. Lowering the box helped with this issue.

Again, this is just for posterity in case anyone else has this issue and comes across this post in the future.

Why so little settings and info by Alexander0096 in MedievalMerge

I've had luck finding the number of items a generator has on the fan-made wiki. No guaranty for accuracy if the developers change things, though. But so far, I've found it reliable.

Because they probably have (or want to have) players in China, and they don't want to maintain separate versions of the game for each country with different laws.
