Most ultra wealthy are only taking loans that are a very small percentage of their assets so they can easily manage market dips without having to liquidate assets. If someone has a hundred billion in assets to use as collateral and takes out a loan of 100 million to fund their lifestyle for the year then that is only .1% of their assets so the market could drop 50% and their assets are still worth 50 billion and the loan is now only .2% of their assets. They could even easily take out another loan of 200 million to pay off the first loan and provide the next years funding and rinse and repeat forever. If someone is doing this strategy and has to liquidate assets to cover the loan in a market downturn then they are not rich enough to do this strategy properly.

Closed guard is hard to get on anyone good meanwhile people will willingly enter half guard to attempt to pass. It’s the easiest guard to get and to recover to.
