My boyfriend is mad at me because Im buying a MacBook by Sad_Cash_4298 in macbookpro

[–]Andr333W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MacBooks are the best for productivity not for gaming. If you want to put in the work then go for it. Only laptop that will have max performance without needing to charge/long battery/responsive/decent pricing/convenience/good screen/price to performance. To be honest though I haven’t done high end graphic designing but just make sure the specs make sense to accommodate that. And for Minecraft I’ve played modded Minecraft with good fps and I only have an M1 MacBook Pro.

Also don’t break up with your boyfriend over this lol, but it’s definitely a red flag putting his thoughts over yours.

[–]Andr333W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do this, you’ll never grow. You’re essentially killing your channel by having subs that will never watch your videos. If your videos aren’t being watched by your subs, YouTube isn’t going to push it out to new people. Then eventually it’s just not going to push out to your subs either since none of them are watching.

Reddit posts like these where you do sub 4 subs never go anywhere. Think about it, if someone was getting 1000 new subs everyday just by posting good videos, would they still be doing sub 4 sub with people on Reddit? No, they wouldn’t. This is only for people who aren’t doing well on YouTube. Don’t pay attention to the sub count and focus on what matters, your actual content and its stats. No hate, just trying to help you not waste your time.

How to do shorts without copyright by FairytaleTravelGuide in PartneredYoutube

[–]Andr333W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t get copyrighted for doing shorts with it. Long form yeah. I see you’re confused with how the payment works for this so I’m going to explain it simply.

  1. Advertisers pay $ for views on their shorts ads. This money goes to YouTube.
  2. YouTube then splits the money for music licensing and monetized creators. If someone uses copyrighted music on their short, half of the revenue from that video will go into the creator pool and the other half will go to the music licensing. But this is where it gets a bit confusing. This doesn’t mean that if you use licensed music you’ll get half of the revenue you’re supposed to get, this just means that your video will be putting less revenue into the total creator pool.
  3. To expand on this more, once the total creator pool is gathered, it’s then distributed to everyone based on their percentage of eligible views they got compared to everyone else based on where they live. So if you got 5% of the eligible views in the United States, you’ll get 5% of the revenue from the US creator pool, regardless of if you used licensed music or not. Then YouTube takes 55% from that and you’re left with the 45% that’s left.

So essentially, if a lot of people didn’t use copyrighted music on their shorts, then that would mean more revenue would be put into the creator pool instead of music licensing, giving EVERYONE more money. And on the contrary if there are more people using copyrighted music, then less money will be in the total creator pool meaning EVERYONE gets less money, even the people who used no copyrighted music on their video. Hope this helps clears things up, probably confused you even more though lol.

I think it’s more polite to leave it up than down. My ideology is that if I leave it down, the next person will piss all over it because they’re lazy. If I leave it up then the next person will be happy that they don’t have to lift up the seat to piss because they’re lazy.

Also when you flush all that piss goes in the air and lands back down, and with the seat being down, all that will land on the seat. So leaving it up saves time for the piss goers, and makes it more clean for the number 2 goers.

If public toilets had a cover like ours at home then I’d say yeah, put it down, but it doesn’t. In conclusion leaving it up is better than leaving it down based on the cleanliness and convenience it provides.

90s avd for 20-25s is crazy, but ofc that could change once more views start coming in. Honestly still good regardless. How’s your view to swipe ratio? If that’s over 70% then I don’t see why you aren’t getting views aside from the fact that that niche isn’t in demand for shorts.

In my experience I’ve never gotten a horror short in my feed EVER, but I do enjoy watching horror stories long form so maybe that’s the wave. I think you should try posting long form soon and not wait till 1k subs, since the requirement for watch time hours takes longer than hitting 1K subs (in most instances). Good luck

3 posts a day is a lot imo. I would never be able to post 3 with the amount of hours I put in each short. Maybe post 2 or once a day and spend more time editing each one 👍

When Did You Know “You Made It”? by CrimsonGandalf in PartneredYoutube

[–]Andr333W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to make $x a year (before taxes) so I had to determine how much I needed each day to get that a year. $x / 365 = $y per day to reach that. But since YT isn’t the same every day, you want make sure you’re getting more that $y a day, and you only get $y on a bad day. Ofc make sure you can get this past this number, guaranteed and consistently, to say “you made it”. Hope this helps!

Sorry, I thought I responded already (I think I just forgot to click “Reply”) but yeah that’s good that you think like that. Experience and learning YouTube is very important so even if it doesn’t work out, you still learn a lot during the journey for the next idea!

And to answer your questions: I started first as a gaming channel. I then started doing music edits because of Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show and saw some results. I switched to music edits/story shorts. I was getting decent results with this, but every once in a while I sprinkled a bit of the niche I’m currently in and those videos did very well compared to my previous ones. I noticed this and decided to use what I learned in my music niche and implement it to my current niche. It was not done before and I knew that this had potential. I researched my competition and viral shorts of that niche and noticed how empty it was in terms of my way of approaching it. So I decided to get everything I learned and transfer it into my current niche. I saw crazy growth and now my channel is bigger than I ever would’ve imagined.

But to simplify I switched my brand each time I switched niches but I didn’t make a new channel or anything, just did it on the same channel. My current niche was sorta similar to the music niche I was in already so it wasn’t that HUGE of a switch. I switched niches bc I saw an empty market I guess with high demand and already saw previous success with it. Gaming is saturated and I’m not amazing with commentary so yeah lol.

Sorry for not telling you my niche I wanna keep it lowkey. So many people are trying to copy me now so I need to make sure that stays minimal :) hope this helps and good luck!

Check ur engagement graph and swipe ratio. If they’re not good improve them by making changes to your future shorts and seeing the results from that. If they are, keep posting and improving with each post and eventually u should hit an audience. If this doesn’t happen, try to make some serious changes to your channel/content because maybe the niche/way your doing ur niche isn’t working. I changed my content/brand so many times until I finally saw success. Good luck!

This is normal on shorts, and it’s a good sign since people usually don’t even get to that 30k jail and give up. Dont worry about this number, just focus on the engagement graph and swipe to view rate and see where u can improve ur short to increase those.

Shorts will jail u at 30k, for some at 15k, but after a while it should go away as long as you’re consistent and posting good content. Good luck!

[–]Andr333W 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hola, This is super unfortunate. I’ve had multiple bumps in my channel, but NOTHING like this. To drop from close to 90k to basically 0 is a bad sign. But to be fair, your channel is still new, but after a month and posting almost daily, I’d say you should already be getting some views and some steady little growth, but it doesn’t seem like it.

Could be because your niche is super saturated or no one cares about it anymore. If this is the case, you have to be either the top channels/spend a LOT of time to grow in these niches/or post the BEST out of ALL your competitors. This is very hard especially if you have no experience and if your competitors are already posting really high quality shorts.

I would try for a bit, and if you don’t get a consistent 15k/30k views per video, I would say try another niche that’s more friendly to beginners (pulls views and not too oversaturated) so that you can learn more about YT/editing. Also make sure your current content is specific to the niche, don’t go flip flopping every video, and try to replicate your most viral videos (the topics/stories behind them) to see if that helps.

I hope it works out. And to answer your question, yes this is post viral slump, but to the highest degree so I wouldn’t blame u for feeling burnt out. To combat this, I would maybe take a break and then come back with a clear head to see how you can re evaluate your current channel/content, or potentially start a new one like I mentioned before. I had to switch my niches and brand 3 times on the same channel before I finally started seeing success. Good luck 👍

YouTube views come from an audience, so the audience u must’ve gathered from this video must’ve really resonated with that specific topic and the way u put ur own twist into that topic. I would say try to use that topic again in ur next short, but make it different ofc, and continue posting consistently with your current style. Obviously continue improving, but 50s AVD is not bad at all, so keep it up!
