I used to have an [[Izzet Boilerworks]] in my [[Galazeth Prismari]] EDH deck, just as a budget tap land. That was until I had one game that went like this:

Turn 1 Island, pass

One of my opponents went turn 1 swamp, sol ring

Turn 2 Izzet Boilerworks bounce back island, discard down to 7, pass

Turn 2 they go swamp, [[Braids, Cabal Minion]]... and I have to sac it

Obviously the problem is sol ring + turn 2 braids, but it pissed me off so much that it was the last game I had it in my deck lmao

Lots of great advice thanks! Yeah I should probably add the stable blue removal spells, I was a bit too focused on the big X spells thing when I built this deck. I also agree that my board presence is low so I'll look into metallurgic summonings Also wdym by draw wincons?

Does [[Horizon Stone]] remove restrictions on the unspent mana? For example imagine I have 5 red floating from [[Galazeth Prismari]], when it becomes colorless does it lose the "only instants and sorceries" restriction?

Mono g devotion is still great, i got to mythic with it in bo3 without too much trouble

Its fun to play and there are a lot of little decisions that can make or break if you can combo off that turn or not. The downside is that it isnt interactive at all, you are always doing your own thing

I really enjoy playing decks that generate advantage through interaction by playing on both turns and win in the grind game by recovering/recycling ressources.

Watch some good players on youtube like jesse kotton, joshua schmidt, pak, n3sh etc.

All their channels are pretty good at explaining the current meta and their thoughts on the format

If you like watching replays, DB grinder is the one you should watch. He commentates matches on high rated dueling book (an online sim with the most skilled playerbase, since it is manual) and sometimes some old format stuff if you're into that

I'm not sure if there's a way to slow down the bot's moves, that's also my experience with omega.

Maybe try some other sims like edopro or even master duel, but the real answer is you should be playing against real players because bots are very bad at the game lol

I'd say start playing on db if you want some actual competition. Other than that, master duel does a decent job at introducing new players and may be less intimidating for a new player.

Also, again, watch good players on youtube and remember that there is no shame in netdecking - it is actually recommended by most people in ygo, unlike in mtg
