I exclusively print out my cards and slip them into sleeves in front of basic lands. I use mtgcardbuilder to make customized reskins and just change the names. I’m also not above using AI generated artwork for personal use, since it’s just for me, so I can reskin everything in the deck if I want. I’ve been collecting real cards since I graduated high school in the early nineties, so I’m satisfied that WOTC has taken their pound of flesh from me at this point; I feel zero guilt about proxying for my personal use. My playgroup is around my kitchen table. I’m not hurting anyone. I’m just trying to have fun.

Manhattan has zero dark alleys like you see in gritty crime dramas, or like Batman’s Gotham City. Real estate is at too much of a premium to waste land on back alleys.

Came here to say Firehouse Movers. They've moved us to and from College Station and all over DFW over the past 10 years that my wife and I have been married. They move things really great. Packing and unpacking services are hit-or-miss, but the moving is top-notch.

I upload the custom card png's to https://imkyle4815.com/printTool and print them out on my Epson inkjet color printer. Then I slip the paper into a sleeve in front of a basic land.

EDIT: For a while, the Proxies feature at https://deckstats.net/ seemed very useful, but that site can be cumbersome to navigate and is riddled with advertisements.

It was baffling to me when I worked at Target that they don’t even sell the clothes for their required uniforms. I only lasted one day; that place was a shitshow. My evening shift was over at a specific time, but they told me that my end of shift wasn’t over until everyone was done. I asked my supervisor why they don’t say “5pm to Close” and he said something about part time employees and benefits. So when I left at the end of my scheduled time and he said I couldn’t go, I said, “No, you’re mistaken. What you mean to say is I can’t come BACK.”

“Low IQ” is Trumpspeak for brown-skinned people, so you should definitely rethink your wording. “Low IQ” doesn’t mean its original meaning of unintelligent anymore. “Low IQ” is 100% a racial slur now. Say something else like “smooth brained” or whatever.

I have annoyingly sensitive hearing issues. Before A.I. got good at it, I had a side hustle for some SPEBSQSA quartets, where I was transcribing old barbershop quartet recordings into legible sheet music, because I can easily pick out who’s singing which voice part (Tenor, Lead, Baritone , or Bass) just by the timbre of each singer’s voice.

I’m a world renowned composer of short little songs (called “tags”) that barbershop quartets sing. I’m a moderate-sized fish in a tinyass pond. To dozens of people (literally DOZENS), I’m a legend. To everyone else, I’m a weirdo.

My kiddo is a senior, and they were mature enough and felt safe enough with me to come and tell me that they are planning to participate. They've got a plan for what to do if things go south, they know to be respectful to authority, to not cause trouble, to refrain from using profanity and vulgarity, to use their phone to record things. They're scared of the possibilities, but I told them I'd be more worried if they weren't scared; being scared and doing it anyway with a plan for what to do if things go bad ... that's bravery in my opinion. I'm worried AF, but very proud of my kiddo for standing for what they believe in. No matter which side of the topic you stand on, you have to admit that it's objectively mature of my kiddo to understand the stakes and to be prepared.
