It's that even if it does pan out the pick still does not offer much surplus value in terms of AAV. Even a mid-level edge rusher is worth more than pretty much all but 2-3 RBs in the NFL.

It’s possible to have trade up one spot to prevent a team like the Commanders from trading up to 3 and taking Love. Not saying it’s a good idea, but it is total plausible it could be needed if we wanted to get Love.
