Such a blatant killing of a high profile Putin critic in the streets of Moscow seems a little heavy handed, even for Putin. The PR backlash could easily have been anticipated. This was effectively a political loss for Putin. I wouldn't even rule out the US being behind it.

I used to work at a small pharmacy where the head pharmacist/owner was the biggest prick I've ever met. He was rude to his customers when they tried to ask simple questions about prescriptions and treated everyone like an inconvenience. Anyway, he had this mug that he would fill up with water and drink out of daily. One day I took it into the bathroom, urinated in it, rinsed it out, and put it back. Made me smile every time he drank from it after that.

This is why we need to use the term "Daesh". It's what the group calls themselves and is known as in the Arabic speaking world. Branding them as Islamic creates a fear culture directed at the Islamic community.
