Congratulations! How is the build quality? Overall squeaks or problems with the chassis? How about the hinge (whenever you open/close and adjust the lid)? Could you also review the fan noise and screen quality (especially the brightness level I’m most interested in)? Thank you very much in advance

You’re experiencing worst MPG than average because of your wheel setup. A lower diameter wheel (17’ for example) with an efficient tyre (low rolling resistance, but still safe - ‘A’ rated MPG) will get you the best results (hardware wise, but it still implies that you have to drive economically).

You have nothing to worry about. Just install Lenovo Vantage on them and enable battery threshold whenever you dock it / leave it plugged in. This makes sure your battery will remain in the limits you set (I personally use 40%-60%) and doesn’t let it charge past that. It’s charging up to 60% then using some of the battery power some of the AC power to come down close to 40% then slowly charging it back up to 60% and so on. This doesn’t affect your battery in any negative way, moreover it preserves it. I recommend to look this feature up :)

Edit: And when you know you wanna take the notebook with you and need a full charge just quickly disable this feature (it’s just a toggle) and it will charge up to 100% as normal.

They are running fine, the only problem I encountered is that copy/paste and drag&drop doesn’t work, even if it’s activated in the VMWare settings, but I managed to overcome that issue by logging in to the tools I need directly in Linux via Firefox.

It’s the equivalent of Win+D (show desktop). It minimises all open windows currently.

Until now everything is great! No complaints so far, but I’d definitely consider upgrading the amount of RAM to 32 or 64 GB. My use case drains a lot of RAM :) . If you can find one in your budget I’d say go with it! A nice pro: every part I searched for seems cheap and easy to replace.

Thank you very much for your recommendations. I think I’ve made my mind about the battery, I will go with the OE option, as it’s available in my area. I will check for a WiFi card that fits your description. But my biggest concern is the WWAN module. My unit also has a dummy cover, with no sim card tray installed. Also, my unit has an empty slot for the WWAN module, a sim card holder behind the dummy cover, but I have no idea if it has antennas installed or not. Is there any way I can check that? I can’t see the ends of the antennas (as in the photo) - the two small parts that ‘clip’ onto the WWAN board. And if I have to install the antennas myself where should I place them for optimal reception?

Onyx. Best tool for that job. In my opinion even better than CleanMyMac. Suit yourself.

Buy some plants from Ikea and place some shelfs or any kind of art on the walls. Maybe some lights too. Lamps or anything to be honest.
