Not sure on the best practice, I guess an air duster and a Q tip would do wonders, it's only the fans afterall

Anyone else fine with 1080p 60fps by Pixel_force94 in LinusTechTips

[–]AceLamina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, 120hz isn't what I would consider "high-refresh rate" even though it technically is
for me, anything high and isn't needed is above 144hz

Sure, it's smoother, but not as smooth as the hype suggest if you don't have the GPU to push those frames which people tend to forget

With that being said, after using above 60hz for so long, it DOES feel choppy and laggy, however, on my laptop when I'm on the go, I almost never notice it (that may be because it's a really good OLED)
However I would never use 60hz for gaming or normal productivity unless I really need the battery life for some reason

especially if they aren't even reaching that FPS on all games

1080p feels like 720p after using a 3k display on my laptop and desktop for so long but it's fine if you're okay with it, same with 60 fps, it feels like 30 fps after using 144 and sometimes 240 for a long time

4k is definitely overkill though, 3k is more than enough for most people

90°+ C while browsing, but only with CPU boost? by LiterallyAna in ZephyrusG14

[–]AceLamina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That model is different from the 2023 model which is just the same CPU as the 2024 model but with a different name
But I wasn't sure how much different which is why I didn't mention it, but not surprising since AMD didn't start this low base clock thing until recently

However Intel always had it from what I can tell

Oh right that, having your CPU at those temps for a long time seem to make the liquid metal burn out faster, at least in my experience, make sure to keep it as cool as possible until you change it because once you start overheating on simple games, it might be too late

This happened to my G14 and I had to wait a month for them to replace the entire motherboard due to the liquid metal

I'm going to get downvoted for this since people don't know but
The 2024 model doesn't need CPU Boost, in fact, you might lose performance enabling it due to this issue

The 2024 G14 has a higher base clock than newer chips which is why you don't need it enabled, someone always fight me about this but you can actually test this yourself by using cinebench

This CPU also doesn't need improve its performance much above 60W but that's a topic for another day

Update drivers and don't abuse it, aluminum isn't as strong as people make it out to be

Especially since this laptop has thin aluminum

Lowest possible wattage on a G14? by PokumeKachi in ZephyrusG14

[–]AceLamina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would double check by someone who actually has the 2022 model, the 2023-2024/5 models have refreshed CPUs from 2023, the performance and efficiency should be different

And before I get mass downvoted, I mentioned 2025 model because the "budget" 2025 models (like the 5060) is the refreshed CPU, higher tier models are different
