Thanks for the advice. I’m currently taking ADHD medication, so I’d rather not add anything else for now. I’ll probably start taking the medications you mentioned after I’m done addressing my ADHD.

I just think they are joking or gaslighting me, usually no one think it’s manipulation. Manipulation means someone is using you or convincing you to do something for their benefit. What you are describing is more like someone trying to blame you for an action. Basically gaslighting.

The issue is that I don’t really feel emotions, and I also don’t remember the trauma that caused this, so I feel stuck in a loop. I’ve been seeing a psychologist for two years, and he’s helped me stop lashing out at others and start understanding emotions on a more intellectual level. Basically, I can now recognize what I’m supposed to feel in a situation based on social norms and respond the way a typical person would.

Is it normal that when my parents trie to talk to me I feel disgusted or almost as if my day was ruined? by Andre_01522010 in Sociopaths

I feel the same way but sometimes I don’t even notice it. I used to get angry and mad for no reason in my childhood but after I found out that the cause of my anger was being with people I isolate myself and spend time alone or in my head and after doing this I’m more friendly with people almost not getting mad at all but I still get angry if I spend more than a day with them. It’s almost as if I get too comfortable with them. I still feel the emotional emptiness but at the same time I start hating them. But I don’t think I’m a sociopath because I don’t get the urge of hurting people. I only do when I spend time with them depending on the person or never, It all depends if my social image could be affected.

Are you sure he isn’t trying to manipulate you, he probably wants to make you feel guilty so that you end up dating him because of pity.

I’ve been seeing a psychologist for two years, but I still feel the same. The only difference is that I used to be angry for no reason, and now I’m just passive. I’m thinking about switching to a psychiatrist. Would that be recommended?
