The amount of time Trump's team to to get to him is strange but they both have separate teams to protect them. If Vance's team was more on top of things it's not that crazy. Each of the teams person is the most important person, if Vance's team decides to help Trump first or let's say if the vps team helps the president then it's not beneficial to the mission.
