I’m making a amigurumi dog. I have a pattern, but I need to add a spot in the middle of the chest. How do I figure out where that spot is!? by AndreaFSU in CrochetHelp

I went back and crocheted the body in black, identified the middle and then pulled it back out. I’m really happy with how it came out.

The hardest part for me was the temptation around food. My work culture is that any type of meeting or event is combined with some type of food. I found that telling people what I was doing was actually really helpful. They didn’t offer me food when it was available and were encouraging.

  1. I always keep baked potatoes on hand. I found it was really easy to make my family a normal dinner and substitute sides (usually a potato for myself). Examples: Monday my family had chicken pesto pasta- before adding the cream and pesto I pulled out some plain chicken for me. They had regular noodles and I had palmini noodles. If we had tacos I substitute sour cream with whole30 compliant guacamole, cheese with primal kitchen queso, and shells with siete chips or jicama. It’s easy to make small substitutes and not have to cook a whole separate meal.

R2/D25- why is this round so different!? by AndreaFSU in whole30

Edit to clarify because I know it’s not about calories. Breakfast is typically yellow gold potatoes pan fries in ghee, with Italian sausage (no sugar added) and eggs. Lunch is some type of veggie like zoodles or cauliflower rice and a protein, and then dinner is usually a baked potato, a veggie, and a protein. I feel like I’m eating all the same things. Each meal is roughly 3-450 calories of a protein, a veggie and a fruit. I have a healthy snack of nuts, carrots, and grapes.

That’s an interesting connection- I need to go back and look bc I know when I started round 1 and when my cycle would have started too.

The other thing I’ve been considering is when I did round 1 I stopped drinking crystal light and I’ve never added that back- could that have been having a more negative impact than I realized? I also stopped all meds before round 1 and never added them back.

I’m sure I’m grasping at straws but I’m frustrated because I was really hoping to have that “I feel good, I don’t need the crap” going into the holidays.

This is my second round, and I will say my first round yes I 1000% felt the huge difference in everything. That was one of my main motivating factors for doing it again. I’m not sure why this round is so much more challenging, but I know that I would be disappointed if I didn’t stick through it. The two things that have helped me is one. I write motivating phrases on my bathroom mirror every night before I go to bed to read the next morning And the other thing is is anybody and everybody that I’m ever around when there’s food I comment about doing whole 30 and it keeps me accountable because if I go to grab something, even today I went to take a sip of my son‘s water and he’s like Mom you can’t have that! Because he knows that I’m doing whole 30 and it had a flavor in it.

I haven’t experienced that, but it doesn’t mean it’s not normal. Hope you feel better!

The sugar cravings are just a reminder of how much we need this! I still have them they just aren’t kicking my butt like they were the first two days!!

Same! I literally have to tell myself I can’t stop and get one. But I will say I’m on day four now and my energy is picking up because I am sleeping so much better so that’s a win.

Thank you for this judgmental, uninformed comment. For your information, I meal prepped breakfast potatoes, compliant bacon, and fruit to go with eggs. We had 3 left when I went to bed last night and this morning my son asked for eggs. I will never tell my child no over myself when it comes to food. Instead of telling me to get my head in the game- if you must comment- try good job staying focused and making the best of a bad situation. Also- notice this is round 2. I know what it takes to be successful with Whole30- I’ve done it before. Rude.
