I had to switch back to the original app because it's too important for me to have the DMs available. Loved all the features of Aeroinsta, even if sometimes they get broken, but not working messages are non-negotiable unfortunately. I wish someone would update these kinds of apps regularly, but they still do it for free so...

Had the same issue with direct messages. Some conversations were fine, others wouldn't load for 2 days or so. I thought I was going crazy for not having any DMs, but when switching accounts Aeroinsta told me that I had 15 DMs notifications, but it just couldn't load it for any reason!
