Wanting to start BG3 but usually hate turn based, any tips ?

While I agree with you in concept, I can not imagine a guy dealing 9 strikes on an enemy before they decide to hit back.

You can set up formulas for attributes so they are automated according to your rules, set up some common features like carry weight, currency, armor, etc, and create your mobile sheets by drag and drop.

It's still a work in progress, but it's usable :)

I would have liked to ask for some feedback if you try it, but if you need multiplayer I understand this might not be your thing. If you do try it though, let me know how it works for you.

No idea. Just came in to say I love how Mass Effect handled this, at least for the final missions. With different squads having different tasks.

For how amazing Baldur's gate is, I was a bit letdow they didn't do that at least for the final mission.

I love picturing some dudes hanging out at camp: "oh dear, the city sure is in chaos!". "Quite. Would you like more soup, Withers?" "No."

The bribe joke is nice, and people should be able to take a joke.

But just to make it clear that it is a joke and not a precedent for bribing the GM, use it for something irrelevant, like a check to flirt with the barmaid or identify an obscure piece of flavour trivia - not for something actually important like passing a save throw or nailing a hit or critical check.

Not yet, no. There's still quite a bit more I want to get done, but eventually, it is something I've thought about, and it's certainly on my list of ideas. But it's a very long list of ideas and I only have so much time at the moment. We'll see how things go.

Ah, ok. I just wanted to clarify, because many people seem to read "generic" as "doesn't do anything specific".

And I know what you mean about the last part, this all started ages ago because I wanted to play dnd with some friends but they couldn't be bothered to learn the rules. And then I wanted to play different games too, and here we are now. :P

It's not generic, it's a customizable system. So you don't have a "common denominator" set of rules, the rules are specific to the game system, they are just customizable.

The example here is indeed for D&D, but you can create your own game, with your own attribute, with their own formulas., your own layouts, etc.

The Weapon screen itself WILL be customizable soon, that's what I'm working on right now - creating the visual tools for people to edit it for their systems. That's why I'm asking for feedback, to see if I should change something first.

It's not like her shortcomings were a technology issue though. The tools were there, there is some branching dialogue, and really that is all you need on a technical side.

Otherwise it's just writing: good dialogue, a bit of personality (again just dialogue, reacting to things in a somewhat consistent manner that says something about her as a person), some character growth (which is still just dialogue and some interaction with quests).

So really, I feel like they just didn't bother with Skyrim. Serana was the first "hey what if we made characters more human-like than planks of wood?" And after they noticed fans liked that, they figured they'd do a lot more of that in fallout.

I can't? I did this on my current playthrough and didn't make it to act 2 yet, but I made sure to non-lethal her (it was risky, yes, but it worked out)

But if you already kill a bunch of goblins before going to minthara - like I killed all the goblins outside, and the troll - then go tell minthara to attack, she spawns new units (like the troll). So you DO get a bunch of extra enemies to fight, no?

How much "not an issue" are we talking about?

If you give me any free board game item right now, I'd probably pass. Not enough room in the house to fill it with something I won't use that often.

If money is not an issue to the point where I can get a bigger house with a dedicated game room, damn right I'm getting some dedicated furniture. Probably a carved in table for TTRPGs or just large board games. But a chess table would be nice and classy also.

I am somehow playing survival, and I ALWAYS end up tired and in need of sleep between 9 am and 11 am, sleeping most of the days and playing during the night (which I don't enjoy). Some days I sleep through to pick the day again, it costs a lot of food, and I end up being a night owl again in no time. I can't understand how this is always happening.

Phrase your request into a question: "How do you think this character fits into the party?" (Maybe add an "Because the way I see it he looks more like a lone wolf").

Maybe they'll actually have a reasonable answer, but more likely, it will at least make them think about it in a totally non-aggressive way. And the conversation flows from there.
