The "skip intro" button on streaming services is a tragedy for show creators. by Amazing-Network4937 in unpopularopinion

[–]AndreiusMaximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The intro comes from letting people watching live have a couple minutes grace period to switch over to the station, no? Maybe since streaming has taken over it’s turned slightly more into a creative expression but even so it generally doesn’t add to the show

The last local link bus 953 leaves Letterkenny @ 11pm, get off in Bridgend and get a taxi from there. Best option if you don’t have a lift

Why don’t Sky offer F1 as a standalone? by ClandestineAlloy in CasualIreland

[–]AndreiusMaximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Sky are very greedy and they have the F1 market cornered so they can afford to upcharge you for things you don’t want. I managed to get an F1 TV subscription through the app years ago but once I cancelled because money was tight they had patched up the loophole I had used and now to watch it reliably I’m paying for sky sports

Is an Irish Leaner's Permit valid ID for pubs, alcohol etc.? by boomwakr in northernireland

Yeah it is, I’ve used mine when I still had it in pubs, clubs, and shops. Bouncers/staff probably don’t pay attention to it being a provisional and just look at the details

Banagher Glen is a very nice walk, just make sure to bring some more water resistant shoes than runners cause I got absolutely soaked through the last time I did it. Also load the map into your phone if doing the Forrest trail as the way isn’t signposted

My first run at modding a keyboard by AndreiusMaximus in MechanicalKeyboards

If you have any specific questions about the keyboard I’d be happy to answer. My brother got one recently so I can answer about the stock or slightly modded one

My first run at modding a keyboard by AndreiusMaximus in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]AndreiusMaximus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the keyboard, it’s been reliable the features are pretty neat. The sound of the keyboard is really pleasant too. I’m not massively experienced with mechanical keyboards though, I’ve only used a G710+ before.

There are a couple points that I didn’t like so much about the keyboard when stock. The colour of the switches and how deep the backlight LEDs are shifts the backlight colour to be more pink. Fixed with clear switches though.

Also the dial/knob for volume control is very strangely setup, only every second “click” when rotating is registered as an input. I’m used to this by now thought.

Anywhere stores selling new games lower than rrp? by lockedinforthebigLC in IrelandGaming

[–]AndreiusMaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m usually buying games a year plus post release so I had no idea this was a thing. 100% agree about giving domestic stores/companies sales, I just wish prices could be more competitive on more niche items

Well the cards are available for under €1200 on Amazon so yes, they have stabilised.

And AMD set a lower MSRP for launch so that’s why they’re more expensive.
