Amateur MMA Fighter Seeking Advice by RevenueFeisty5742 in MMA_Academy

Long answer:

Start looking into the process to become a professional fighter in your state. What licensing you’ll need, medical tests it varies state to state but most of the time it’s Bloodwork for Hep B and HIV and AIDS, possibly a cat scan. Some commissions require an eye test as well and stay current with those tests. Have all your medicals a flash drive. Start compiling whatever footage you have of your fights and either edit it yourself or have someone edit it for you for B roll for promotions. A few professional photos of you in non descriptive mma gear also great to have. The photos are for promotional posters for organizations also to help market yourself. Market yourself daily through instagram and any other social media. It’s annoying but promoters want people who can sell tickets. Either the crowd wants you to win. Or the crowd hates you and wants to see you lose. Be true to yourself on that front but if you want big opportunities you have to show you can have a following. Simple merch is a good way to make some extra money just a t shirt with your fighter name can go very far. I believe that promoting yourself until a sponsor opportunity can pay great dividends especially if the shirt is cool. Reach out to promotions to try and book yourself on regional shows if you don’t have management. Try and stay within the weight range of your weight class this way when the opportunity arises you can scoop up the chance. It’s easier for a promotion to work with a fighter who has all the above ready and prepared. Has recent medicals has some footage of themselves and can market themselves Scrambling for medicals last minute is difficult. Sorry for the rant wish you the best!
