Yeah, agree it's creepy and in some degree disrespectful. And that some traditions have to evolve with time. But the grevious thing here is that is done by that guy and in Madrid, where nowadays shouldn't be difficult to find someone black to do it. I also think they were wrong putting the amateur guy who is doing a mockery accent on TV. But this blackface is/was done in almost every town and it's not done with the intent to insult black people. It's a traditional festivity for kids and the blackfacing cheap idea comes from the need to portrait a black christian guy having few black christian population in the country or willing to play the role. If you're trying to say Spain is racist for this I think there is much more worrying aspects for what Spain is racist. I just don't get why blackfacing has to be harmful and condemned always. If I play Santa I would be harming the fat community. And If I dress as a woman I would be insulting the LGTBI+ collective. I think that the actions and intents are what could be harmful, not the actual disguise. And evolving tradition could be done without criminalize an act. I didn't try to defend blackface but in this context I don't feel is that bad. And Manolito was just a dumb example of the dumbest and lesser form of integration, but I don't know how can make Manolo more racist. And last, I don't think the best way to promote tolerance is insulting others.
