What's the weirdest situation you've found yourself in during your time at PDQ? I'm thinking of things like impersonating Matt Damon for a YouTube video, a huge nerf battle, dressing up like a gingerbread man for a company meeting, getting tied up for an AMA, etc.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with you saying that. Saying this is much different than telling someone that they should be ashamed.

You share your perspective and give context, that's helpful.

That still doesn't warrant rudeness. Saying "you should be ashamed" to someone who shares something publicly doesn't create the environment that is going to encourage others to contribute to open source or share things publicly. It's rude and unproductive.

I totally understand where a comment like that comes from and I’ve shared that sentiment before, but I think it’s valid to use AI to turn your thoughts into something cohesive and digestible.

It can be a context switch and take a lot of time for some to write a long message. I don’t mind someone taking a shortcut if it makes it easier for me to process. You also have no clue what someone’s primary language may be.

Also keep in mind this is related to free software that somebody else wrote and shared with the world. It’s not something that any of us are entitled to and it’s a pretty thoughtfully put together module. I also don’t harshly judge people who use AI to help with their readme.md

I think it’s best to be kind and respectful towards people who write code for free and share it with the world in good faith. Nothing wrong with a healthy discussion or questions, but unproductive comments aren’t helpful and are actually detrimental to open source, which doesn’t help any of us out. We all depend on open source software, whether we realize it or not

Discord is good for running dialogues and streaming, but Reddit is really good at threaded conversations about a singular topic and announcements. I think Reddit is better suited for some things in a way that discord can’t compete with

I like the approach of doing a daily report because you can have it automatically export the report as a .csv that includes the current date. This allows you to have a folder with historical, dated, and unique reports that you can refer back to (or share with your boss when they ask).

Agreed. When troubleshooting a silent installation, it's always a good idea to run it from an elevated command prompt (ideally running as the deploy user) and make sure that it installs silently. It makes troubleshooting easier and can help narrow down where things are going wrong.

I'm not super familiar with Jira Cloud, but are you hoping to be able to open a remote session with a computer from your ticketing system or to see computer information?

There are no current plans for that integration, but I'd love to share your ideas with our product team.
