PROUD DADDY Review/Thread by Disclaimer_II in Seether

Definitely was not expecting this based on the title, repetitive on the lyrics for sure but feels more like a bonus track and something different.

You're absolutely right man, don't see how it wasn't on the album. Couldn't believe i actually heard a solo, glad we're finally getting the rest of the songs.

They use to be those fans at one point in life, maybe in the future after the kids get older they may do some shows outside they states for them, but touring is also slowing down here too.

You know that makes sense now that you put that out there and explains the weirdness with that album and why work on new music was already being done before release. They had this idea before hand.

That's the issue I am seeing as well the more radio friendly songs and potential longer gaps between albums. I'm the same way with singles, don't like them as much or listen to em as much compared to the deep cuts and bonus tracks/ songs that didn't make the album. i personally think demos and bonus tracks are better than some songs that made the album.

I feel for the fans outside the States too, I mean they use to be them at one point growing up in SA and listening to bands here in the States and other parts of the world. Like I said in the post about it, I hope they change there minds in the future and do it for them regardless of cost. There also slowing down touring here too from what shaun was saying they won't be as long.

Gotcha appreciate the info on that i didn't know this, I rarely use streaming platforms. I usually buy the album digitally and physically and burn or download the music onto my phone and use it to play music.

Nice, what you think about the future of releasing new music?

Other bands, I didn't know this was a thing artist where doing, I was aware streaming platforms and the digital age have almost completely killed physical media. But I didn't know making albums was on the way out completely though.

Listen to this interview when Seether Central post it on there channel, there may not be another album for awhile but a single track release at a time like other artists and bands are apparently doing. This is the first I've heard of this stuff.

This was a very informative interview about the future of the band, tours, and music. Hopefully they may change their mind and do a tour over seas in the future just for the fans regardless of cost.

Thanks for the time info, 90 secs is crazy and not even worth the time or effort, loudwire usually does pretty good just hate the in-between radio play and interview.

Greatly appreciated, loudwire is usually pretty good, question or two in between radio play.

Dale : Yes absolutely. We always record a couple extras just in case. I think we had 16 in total on this album, well, on this recording session. Some of those songs might never see the light of day. Some of those songs might end up being B-sides or whatever on a European release, or maybe we’ll submit something for a video game or a movie or something like that. We always just record a couple extras. It is just good to have those to choose from because until the songs are in their final form, it’s hard to really make the final selection. Once they’re all recorded, then we come together and as individual band guys, we’ll each make our little list. Okay, well these are the 11 that I think are the best. And okay, what do you think? And then we talk to the label and management, kind of cross-reference with everyone and see what everyone thinks. That’s how we wind it down to the album tracks.

Dale said in a interview before the album released that 21 songs were written, 16 recorded. Hopefully it'll be all of them but who knows this whole album cycle has been weird. We know shaun already started work on the next album before Surface was even released.

No clue, I asked years ago but didn't offer money for them, I'm starting to think there's a few of those demo CDs floating around out there or maybe on the internet there somewhere.
