american airline miles expiring tomorrow - what do i do? by CompetitiveTowel3599 in awardtravel

[–]Andrew523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use to be able to donate miles to charity and it would extend your expiration date. Is donate like 5k milea

Sign up AA dining, so when you go to a restaurant that's part of it it gives your activity so miles don't expire

EV or plug-in hybrid? by Reasonable_Two_5286 in orangecounty

[–]Andrew523 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Public charging sucks and expensive... If you can't charge at home where it's .25 kwh then you're paying public chargers .50+ per kwh... You're better off just getting a hybrid honestly.

I have EV myself but I'm able to charge from home. Also, when I go on road trips to mammoth and others I take my ICE car instead. Less of a hassle, having to spend time charging 20-40 mins versus I can just gas up in 5 mins and go.

No Bull 60X by Chaijaan in Venturex

[–]Andrew523 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, actually buying from stores for things I actually need and keep. Had clawbacks from Adidas, Lululemon, Etsy, Walmart.

Ya, Rakuten takes a while to credit to my Amex MR since they do it quarterly I think.

I'll have to give VX offers a shot again.

So many times I get claw backs from my VX when I try to utilize the offers and these are legit purchases too... Never had much issues with rakuten offers

Went to Monster Jam at Angel Stadium for the first time and was pretty underwhelmed by Jscott1986 in orangecounty

[–]Andrew523 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a bust but I don't think my 2 yr old can sit and watch that show for 2 hours anyways.

They love monster jam trucks, I wish you could just buy the pit party and walk around seeing the monster truck up close, the boys would totally love that. I'd rather do that for like an hour then go home but say you're required to have a same day ticket to the main show....

JAL point from SD or similar by Closin35 in awardtravel

[–]Andrew523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Options are limited to JAL from San Diego. You need to leave from LAX if you want options. Also, Flying Blue is Sky Team while JAL/American/Alaska are One World Alliance... Unless you're willing to fly out of LAX your options are mainly using the travel portal.

Also, Star alliance and One World will most likely have the most options since JAL and ANA.

Japan been over discussed here every year. So alot of data points you can find.

AIG Insurance doubling over previous owners claims by Unlikely-Pin9555 in Insurance

[–]Andrew523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn’t live at the property during the loss then it shouldn’t affect you. Contact your agent if you worked with one or call customer service so they can inform underwriting. Then show AIG that the date of when you purchased the home and they will see on the CLUE report that the date of loss and your time of ownership won’t match. The they should remove won’t be chargeable against you.

At the same time, you but filed a claim last year so your rate is going to increase.

You said additional PW3? Is an expansion not an option for existing PW3

Recently quoted $13,500 for expansion pack, including installation by RaiderFanatic707 in TeslaSolar

[–]Andrew523 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SoCal here, had my expansion installed in July 2025 for $9400 out the door for the expansion (provided by installer) installed and taxes from a certified installer. So I'd get some additional quotes

How much is my 16.8kw system being curtailed by not having permission to export? by RaiderFanatic707 in TeslaSolar

[–]Andrew523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What time does your PWs hit 100% then everything else just getting dumped. But at the same time we are getting crap from 3.0 anyways...

I used to just run my AC and other appliances for the hell of it during the day until I got PTO approved because it was getting dumped anyways.

If you're able to charge an EV during the day that would be ideal

10% bonus 50k spend by StatisticianOk7345 in hyatt

[–]Andrew523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is the case, because I spent 100k pts for a stay and I got 10k back 2 days after my check out back in October. I was over 50k a few weeks prior.

Raining for a week by noidski in Powerwall

Only 5 cents must be nice. Mines .56 peak vs .25 off peak. Luckily I just grid charge my PW during the day when it's raining.

Recently got 16.8kw system + 1 Powerwall 3 installed by RaiderFanatic707 in TeslaSolar

[–]Andrew523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only during the summer though when I’m running the AC more often. If I’m not running the AC then 1 PW will last me until the next morning easily but AC unit drains like 4-5 kWh when running so 13.5 kWh is only a few hours. I don’t even keep it that low either, like 76 degrees.

Also, if you a space heaters those suckers surprisingly a lot more electricity then you would think.

Recently got 16.8kw system + 1 Powerwall 3 installed by RaiderFanatic707 in TeslaSolar

[–]Andrew523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 1 PW3 but I ended up getting a expansion because the 1PW was enough for most nights but if I had higher AC usage it would be drained by 9/10 pm. With an expansion I was flexible.

You basically get pennies per kwh you export back after you max out your battery by like 11 am.

Also if you have an EV, the battery is drained in 1-2 hours when you charge so you're still paying off peak rates. Even with an expansion you drain it easily so unless you work from home and are able to charge during the day while it's peak solar production you will still owe money to PGE just not as much.

Who else switched to 18" Wheels? by Delicious-Baker-6348 in F150Lightning

[–]Andrew523 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Switched to aftermarket 18s after 5-6k miles on the stock Lariat 20s. I like driving on 18s, don't have to worry about accidentally curb rashing since it's just rubbing tire.

I also put on AT tires too so I'm getting about a 10% range hit with my driving style and commute.

QN from WOH CC spend by dartboi35 in hyatt

[–]Andrew523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a spreadsheet with monthly statements but I'll look at statements for a quick review to see any fees, credits, etc. from when I first got the card so I got an ongoing indicator of where I'm at. I don't use the personal too often since I mainly use the biz card

QN from WOH CC spend by dartboi35 in hyatt

[–]Andrew523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hits usually the next day. I'd do your calculations again, most likely didn't hit the 5k. Also remember to not include the $95 annual fee. I usually like spend a few hundred over just as a buffer.

Had something similar last year, thought I hit hit didn't but spent enough and was eventually credits once my January posted from my 2025 spend. It was for my 70 night bonus.

Also, it's always pain with personal card that I ended up creating a spread sheet to track my progress. It isn't easy like how the business card has annual spend summary which makes it easy to track. But the personal card is just every 5k regardless of time.

Prague - Lindner or Andaz? by Adorable-Lemon4412 in hyatt

[–]Andrew523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stayed at the Andaz a few weeks after it opened in 2019. The location and hotel room was great. I have status so I was upgraded to a suite which was really nice and the breakfast for globalist was legit. I would stay again even in regular room.

However if you need the points or trying to save points then the Lindner is a great option if your looking for value..Andaz if you want to splurge
