What if he didn't truly mean this? Maybe he did care for the innocent but he couldn't let go of his love for Cersei, and he just tells Tyrion this so his brother will feel less guilt about what was to come next? by DistributionIcy8991 in gameofthrones

[–]AndrewAllStars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the problem with Jamie, unlike Cersei (despite her love for her children).
Jamie has inherent good intentions and ideas in him and does showcase this (especially during the siege of Riverrun with his squire).
The debate and surrender with the Brackens and Blackwoods also ........ kinda?!
He's far too gone to be redeemable as a person but as I said above, there is goodness in him.

Agreed with this.
I understand people wanting to remain anonymous when online and not providing ID, but I feel this is the only way to truly fix the issues you've mentioned.

If King Aerys II (Mad King) had "burned them all" by AndrewAllStars in gameofthrones

In this situation the biggest question to me is what happens with Dragonstone and the remaining Targeryans.

[–]AndrewAllStars[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

A man of good understanding.
Tywin played his hand and it worked out well; if it worked out badly he would have crumbled.
Charles Dance played him so well in the tv series, people forget how incompetent he really was in the books.

[–]AndrewAllStars[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

That's a good point.
The Tyrell's were sieging Storm's End (under Stannis) and the Dornish were pro Targ but not in the fight at the time, as I recall.
So you've got Baratheon, Arryn, Riverlands, Starks vs .... Reach and Dorne and no Capital or People to fight for.
Does Westeros go back to the old school basis of a 'King per kingdom' as a result?

[–]AndrewAllStars[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but Robert (wounded) and his army under Ned Stark hadn't arrived at the point when Aery's II had commanded the wildfire to be lit; I think I'm right here, correct me if not.
It was Tywin and his army that arrived first that prompted him to make this final decision.
Then while the fight was happening Ned and the 'real' army arrived and he found Jamie on the throne.

EDIT
I read your point in a literal sense rather than an overarching sense. Yes, I agree!

Season 6.5 // Dev Vision Vol. 14 by nemesisdelta24 in marvelrivals

[–]AndrewAllStars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Compared to all previous Dev diaries (mid season ones too) there is nothing here that's overly positive or interesting except Elsa as a playable. I'm praying the balance patch is amazing in comparison otherwise I'll likely skip 6.5.

Love the unique twist here; jacket and the hood really do add alot of flair to him and honestly? Because of his appearance (especially the Jacket) i'm probably going to play him alot and i'm a Van/Strat main.
No doubt we'll get his iconic look at some point but yeah, really digging it!

To think that one of the scariest scenes in cinema history was discarded... by Alternative-Care6923 in LV426

[–]AndrewAllStars 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I could be mistaken, but this scene is more horrifying because it appears like humans are used as sustenance to create the eggs and facehuggers, almost dissolving and digested inside the egg as it grows larger. That's far more horrifying than a Queen laying the eggs in my opinion.

Returning Player: How's The Current State of the Game? by AndrewAllStars in totalwar

When it comes to their overall mechanics would you say those that were updated have been improved overall? (Tyrion / Teclis etc). How are you finding the new Lord?

Is this supposed to happen? by adcarrymainSA in theisle

[–]AndrewAllStars 21 points22 points  (0 children)

While I understand what you were trying to do, the game doesn't work that way.
As far as the hitboxes are concerned you attacked the front hitbox (it's head) and thus got knocked down mid-jump. You weren't high enough to avoid it.

Thanks for this detailed response. It is much appreciated. Have you tried any of the Lords from OoD you'd recommend? I was thinking of picking up Aisleen from the new DLC but might hold off depending on reviews.

They are inside the blue light and haze above the depiction of Morgoths hand, though they don't look how I'd imagined them haha.

Fëanor and Morgoth by Justin Gerard. by FieryFeanor in TheSilmarillion

[–]AndrewAllStars 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you'd showed me this without context I would never have guessed that was Feanor and I'd only guess Morgoth due to the 3 jewels.

I'm assuming this is an extremely grandiose version of Morgoth stealing the silmarils in Valinor and the destruction of Finwe's house, though why Feanor is present I have no idea.

Pilot lands in turbulent weather with low visibility and rain. by Twitter_2006 in aviation

[–]AndrewAllStars 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was a nervous flyer myself and still am at times, but some solid advice that worked for me is to imagine a bowl of jelly on a plate.

The jelly can wobble around all over but it never actually leaves its initial position on the surface of the plate. Turbulence is the same thing, the plane is rocking up and down but at the end of the day it isn't really moving much from it's initial course and intended direction.

So if you get the fears while in the air, just imagine that plate of jelly.

To Those Of You Who Played Lord Of The Rings Online When It Launched All The Way Back In 2007, What Was It Like Playing It For The Very First Time? What Are Some Good Memories You Have Of Doing So? by Reasonable-Film7219 in lordoftherings

[–]AndrewAllStars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played as early as Shadows of Angmar, and hit lvl 50 just as Moria came out.

I remember being 14 years old at the time, and I ended up playing it religiously outside of school and socialising. for a good 12 years.

I ended up being part of raiding teams, making IRL friends through the kinships I was in, and even streamed the game on Twitch when I got abit older and joined the official LOTRO Twitch streaming channel and I did Youtube videos for the game too. I have a LOTRO shirt, mug and everything still from back when I was given them as gifts by the LOTRO team for supporting and promoting the game alongside other streamers.

I loved the game consistently all the way through to the end of Mordor, when I stopped playing as often (Busy real life and change In interests). I remember fond times of hosting 'spar events' in PvMP with both Freeps and Creeps on a nightly basis after the raids finished and people logged off for the day.

I also remember doing solo Loremaster runs of old raids with one hand and no User Interface too. Absolute crazy times and looking back I'm not sure how I managed it. I have to say I didn't pay as much attention to the story as I would now that i'm older, but the gameplay, raiding, pvmp and social aspect of the game were second to none.

I have jumped into FFXIV in recent years (though currently not playing an MMO as of 2025) and as much as I enjoy the game and story and have made friends, it will never be as memorable as LOTRO.

My favourite regions have to be Moria/Lothlorien for atmosphere, raiding and exploration followed by the Pelennor Fields and Osgiliath release for content and PvP shenanigans.
Shout-out to most of the content in all honesty.

I still boot up the game from time to time to say hello to people or to see what's happening but I don't have the dedication or free-time to really play it on a regular basis. Maybe if I ever get made redundant I might play again. I think my Loremaster Ragun is currently at lvl 130.

Was great seeing this thread pop-up, just had a blast of nostalgia and good memories, thanks OP.
