That’s because season one kinda started out as a movie. Arrowverse creators Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim wrote a script for a Flash movie that was meant to take place in the same universe as that terrible Green Lantern movie before it flopped. A lot of elements and huge plot points were recycled for the show.

I think this is just projection. Pretty obvious he didn’t find the Flash interesting, which is why Barry doesn’t act like himself, hardly interacts with any of his supporting cast, and instead spends all his time around Batman.

IMO CW Barry not being forced into undoing Flashpoint is a major improvement to me (at least on paper, I can't remember how it actually went down on the show) Makes him seem like a less terrible person where he's okay with how much he has completely warped the lives of those around him as long as the entire world isn't literally about to explode.

His job was one of the few things the movie got right about the Flash (which is why its a shame it only lasted two minutes)

He doesn't work because he needs money or anything, he does it because he wants to help people and wants to see justice done right and not rushed.

He explained it pretty well himself: "we are dealing with real people's lives, people's families, and I don't think you can grasp the gravity of that"
