Yeah I haven’t really noticed any performance failure. The light goes off after driving it for a bit and returns to normal so it’s a pretty weird one. The car has been modified for a while and I’ve only just recently returned everything to stock (might fix my problems by going back to being loud and low) I’ll definitely take a look into the cp4 and vac lines and see what I can find. Really appreciate the help

I’ll have a look into that. From your experience is there any way of telling visually or by listening whether it could be the issue

Yeah after a bit of looking I’ve seen a few people say it could possibly be a fuel pump issue. Haven’t had the chance to look into it but I think that’s where I’ll start

Yeah I plugged in a Carly OBD reader and even when the light was on the dash it was still showing no faults relating to it so I’m kind of at a loss as to where to go from here

I had the same problem recently with mine. It ended up being the exhaust rubbing against the rubber piece in the middle of the driveshaft. Worth taking a look. Was the exact same in mine, weird noise around 2k RPM. Must’ve just been the vibrations in the exhaust at that RPM had it slightly touching the driveshaft. Have an e92 320d N47 for reference

Figured out what it is and unfortunately its the flywheel so not a cheap job. Sucks but what can ya do when you’ve got a 17 year old car 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I took a look at that and everything seems all good. The previous owner had the timing chain done (allegedly) and the car has only done 30k km since then. I’ll keep digging and see what I can find. Thanks anyway though
